MT: 49ers 2013 Schedule Analysis

Posted by Taylor Price on April 19, 2013 – 10:43 AM

The 49ers will have five primetime games in 2013 and several noteworthy matchups in the final year at Candlestick Park.

With the 2013 regular season schedule being released on Thursday, it’s now known that San Francisco will face four playoff teams in the opening five weeks of the season. The 49ers will also open the final season at The ‘Stick against the Green Bay Packers, the very same team they opened against on the road in 2012.

It will also be Colin Kaepernick’s first regular season start at quarterback and his 11th career start as he enters his third season with the 49ers. The last time Kaepernick faced the Packers at Candlestick, the dual-threat quarterback rushed for 181 yards in his first career playoff outing. It was also the most single-game rushing yards from a quarterback in NFL history.

The other 15 regular season games on the 49ers schedule provide several quality matchups. Free agency departures from the 49ers like defensive tackle Ricky Jeans Francois, tight end Delanie Walker and safety Dashon Goldson will all face their former team in 2013. Jean Francois and the Indianapolis Colts will visit the 49ers on Sept. 22, Walker and the Tennessee Titans will host the 49ers on Oct. 20 and Goldson and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will welcome the 49ers on Dec. 15.

The 49ers will also play the Titans the week before they cross the pond to face the Jacksonville Jaguars at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Schedule’s fine. Just would have prefered having Packers on a Sunday or Monday night. I didn’t like the fact either some mediocre teams have the samee number of games as Niners. Should have gotten at least 7 primetime games.

We’re gonna dominate the draft & the 2013 season!!

    Go Niners!!!!

Totally agree Ruben – But just so we’re in the Last primetime game!

schedule could be worse …texans will be tough ….as will atlanta and saints …..the kaeper with a full starting offseason will flourish and become the best QB out there …great pick up ….niners are on the move to show how to dominate the league

we have to put the rams in their place as well as the hawks if the niners plan on any surge to the superbowl …….

another tough schedule this year , but i’m confident we will prevail, once again will be on top of the west, i could agree more on the guy fr.memphis 13-3, but i’m thinking 14-2, based on the roster we have, its not only deep, but its scary to encounter when everybody is health and ready to go,not counting the picks yet fr. the up coming drafts….and one more thing , i think c. woodson would come to his senses and sign, just a gut feeling…..

“another tough schedule this year , but i’m confident we will prevail, once again will be on top of the west, i could agree more on the guy fr.memphis 13-3, but i’m thinking 14-2″

It’s going to be a kick to the gut if the 49ers go 10-6, 2-4 in the division, and take the second place in the NFC West. I find it interesting that when Alex Smith was going to start heading into 2012, people were expecting an 11-5 season after a 13-3 season, but now that the veteran leader is gone, people are expecting an improvement over last season.

The 49ers have made some excellent moves for depth, and the Boldin acquisition was one of the best trades I’ve ever seen. However, everything hinges on Kaepernick now. It wasn’t this way formerly, and I don’t see how this is a good thing.

Week one will say everything: A do-over for a Packers’ defense whose defensive coordinator was shamed but not fired, and a must win game for a 49ers team that set their destiny with the promotion of Kaepernick and the trade of Alex Smith.

    I’ll be paying close attention.

Its a for sure worthy schedule, for us to prove yet again we are the best team in the NFC and The NFL . Quest for 6 the epic saga continues!!! And of course the falcons at the stick would be a primetime game. It will be the last game ever at the stick. that alone stands for a just cause to have it on primetime.

It was just a matter of time before blah blah blah.

niners go 12-4.. 11-5 that’s fine going 13-3 or even 14-2 is awesome….set out to win div. than set up for home field…but like last year home field isn’t everything…they won champ. game on road….as usual blahblahblah has to bring up alex smith…..like no one cares anymore…oooo let me rephrase that only blahblahblah cares…..to funny….”.bolden trade was one of the best trades u ever seen”…..WHAT? it was a good trade niners didn’t give up anything but best trade EVER? u just showed your football knowledge….

What established top-tier NFL player ever traded away for a 6th round pick? From the great depths of your vast football knowledge, please inform me.

    I’ll be waiting.

By the way, did you take a look at the Seahawks’ schedule? On what basis would you suggest that the 49ers would win the NFC West with an 11-5 record? If they are only 11-5 and didn’t take both of their games against the Seahawks, they’ll be on the road throughout the playoffs.

Oh, look! Another thumbs down to my post from a user with a quarter-brain and an axe to grind.

You’re already wrong. And you’re going to spend another year still being wrong. Get over it.

Just with the improvement tin the field goal kicker alone would have given us 2 more wins last year over the Rams. 14-2 or 15-1 this year. The game in Seattle bothers me and maybe one more letdown. We have the talent to run the table!

why the CANDLESTICK PARK TICKETS is so EXPENSIVE?. we LOW INCOME SF49ERS FANS have no RIGHTS to watch our SF49ERS NFL TEAM live at the CANDLESTICK PARK?. and also NO… PROMOTION & GIVEAWAY ITEMS SF49ERS NFL: and that CANDLESTICK PARK, is in the BORING AREA, 101 SouthBound, of SanFrancisco City:
