49 in 49: Big 12 Week

Posted by Taylor Price on March 11, 2013 – 4:11 PM

For the next seven days, 49ers.com will continue to profile the most compelling prospects available in the 2013 NFL Draft as part of our “49 in 49″ series.

Next up, the Big 12’s top talent will come into focus. Seven prospects from the conference will be featured, including a well-known passer from conference newcomer, West Virginia.

The new-look conference featured No. 12 ranked Kansas State (11-2), a BCS team led by Heisman Trophy finalist Colin Klein. No. 15 ranked Oklahoma also finished off a 10-3 season and figures to have several draft-worthy prospects in this year’s NFL crop. Texas (No. 19) rounds out the group of teams from the Big 12 that finished in the AP’s Top 25 rankings.

The San Francisco 49ers did not select any players in the 2012 NFL Draft, but that could change with the team holding picks in every round of the draft and additional selections from previous trades made in the 2012 draft.

Which Big 12 talent would you like to see in a 49ers uniform next season? Leave your thoughts in the comment section at the bottom of this post.

As Niner fan and Longhorn alum, I would love to see Kenny Vaccaro in a SF uni. Would probably require a trade up though.

Also really like WR Terrance Williams of Baylor. He plays faster than his 4.50 40 speed and could be a legitimate option in the return game.

The 49ers need to Target Tyrann Mathieu in this upcoming draft. The “Honey Badger” has 49ers and Tony Montana Squad written all over him.

Montee Ball or possibly Cordarrelle Patterson would also be great additions to a already astounding offense in the 49ers. #GO49ers

We need a backup to compete. Kaep’s college records were tied or broken by Colin Klein from K State. Watching him he can throw though was known for running. And he won’t go very high so could be a great bargain.

My opinion..Draft Leon Sandcastle..although he looks alot older than he actually is..his hands are like gorilla glue and he’s faster than a vw
