2001 Super Bowl: Tom Brady threw to Troy Brown, J.R. Redmond, Jermaine Wiggins, David Patten, Marc Edwards, Antowain Smith, and Kevin Faulk.
2003 Super Bowl: Tom Brady threw to Deion Branch, Troy Brown, David Givens, Daniel Graham, Kevin Faulk, and Mike Vrabel (yes, the linebacker, who caught a touchdown reception that game).
2004 Super Bowl: Tom Brady threw to Deion Branch, Troy Brown, David Givens, Daniel Graham, Kevin Faulk, Corey Dillon, and Mike Vrabel (that linebacker caught another touchdown reception!)

Some big names, and a lot of players who went undistinguished. 2012 was probably the best year Brady ever had when it comes to quality in his receiver corps, and yet he still spread the ball around. Why? It's how players get open for touchdowns.

You didn't really think it was lost on the Ravens' coaches that when throwing in the Red Zone, Kaepernick targeted Crabtree almost 3:1 compared to number two red zone target Vernon Davis. That's why Kaepernick couldn't throw for a touchdown at the end of the Super Bowl.

My point had nothing to do with total yards in one game. It had to do with consistency. It had to do with players registering more than one reception in a game. It had to do with spreading the ball around so that the opponent can't shut down the aerial game. Kaepernick's bread and [spreadable solidified dairy substance] was the 20 yard completion (along with frequent incompletions), and so therefore you would see one receiver out of the bunch have a big game.

The 49ers had two one hundred yard receivers in the Super Bowl. And guess what? THEY LOST. They lost because their quarterback targeted only four different receivers all game. They lost because instead of steadily moving the chains, they consistently aimed high and missed. Kaepernick was a master of the 20 yard throw (actually he wasn't; it was just what he did best), but when it came down to a 5 yard lob, he couldn't do it.

It wasn't Moss' fault, or Walker's, or Davis', or Crabtree's. It was Kaepernick's fault. But way to twist my argument into something it wasn't. Thanks for playing. Come back when you've achieved second grade reading level.

Oops, I put my condescending voice on again.

Thanks for reading.
