The problem is that now that Kaepernick has put up two big stat lines in six games, there’s a dozen more uber-vocal anti-Smith fans voicing their allegiance to Kaepernick. In a few days they will be parroting the line from the local radio shows: ‘It was a total team failure, and therefore you can’t put it on Kaepernick.’ This, of course, is intellectually dishonest, and was never the standard Smith was held to under the same number of years of coaching by Harbaugh as Kaepernick. Kaepernick could sneeze, and he would be praised because he did it explosively.
