49ers to Host Fan Appreciation Day

Posted by Alex Espinoza on December 7, 2012 – 1:54 PM

The 49ers have a full Sunday slate of entertainment planned for the 49ers Faithful on Fan Appreciation Day presented by Jack in the Box when they host the Miami Dolphins at Candlestick Park for a 1:05 p.m. kickoff.

During halftime, the 49ers and Sony Electronics are pleased to present Grammy nominated platinum recording artist and star of the Sony Pictures Film Sparkle, Jordin Sparks. In the four years since winning American Idol, Sparks has released two albums, with her debut going platinum and selling over 2 million copies worldwide. Sparks is currently working on her next album and looking forward to the release of her next film, The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete. In honor of Fan Appreciation Day, 49 Lucky Fans will win a pair of Sony X Headphones courtesy of Sony Electronics.

Gameday Entertainment and Features

  • The 49ers are pleased to support the NFL’s Play 60 program, which encourages children to play outside for 60 minutes a day to combat childhood obesity. During pregame, the 49ers will recognize local Play 60 ambassadors, as well as the Punt, Pass and Kick finalists.
  • Thousands of boys and girls from Northern California participated in the preliminary NFL Punt, Pass and Kick Competition this fall. The top finishers in each age group will take place in the championships during pregame, with winners announced at the two-minute warning. All winners will have the chance to advance to the national finals during an NFL playoff game in January.
  • The national anthem will be performed by Bay Area native Casey Rico, who started performing at the age of five. Rico has been featured on a local TV show, alongside American Idol finalist, Thia Megia and has performed with several recording artists, winning numerous awards in vocal competitions.
  • Also performing on-field at halftime are 550 spirit leaders from Northern California.

  • 49ers brand ambassadors will be handing out Jack in the Box reusable Go 49ers bags throughout the Grand Plaza during pre-game while supplies last, as well as 49ers tattoos courtesy of Spike TV.
  • Before heading inside the stadium, be sure to stop by the Bridgestone display and the Sony ElectroLounge located in the bus lot outside of the Verizon Gate.
  • Following a 49ers victory, coupons for two free tacos courtesy of Jack in the Box will be available upon exit.
  • Fans are encouraged to bring their AAA cards for chances to win free gifts during each game this season.
  • Make sure to check out all 49ers partner booths in the Grand Plaza, such as Sports Gallery, Visa, and THE BONE (JinkoSolar Gate), Great America, Global Winter Wonderland, U.S. Bank and Bud Light (Bud Light Plaza), and Verizon, KGO Pre-Game Show broadcast, Bridgestone and Comcast (Verizon Gate).

Hedge Funds Care

  • During today’s game, members of the Hedge Funds Care San Francisco organizing committee, 49ers Foundation Board Members and the 49ers Foundation Executive Director will be recognized on field for their contributions.

The Best Fan Appreciation Day Giveaway: Give the fans Colin Kaepernick for the first half and Alex Smith for the second. It would give 49ers’ fans the best frame of reference from which to discuss the 49ers’ QB non-conundrum. It would also ensure that the 49ers’ best quarterback, whoever that might be, plays for a half.

    Everybody wins.

I would leave those decisions to the coaches, Phat.

I’m just stoked to have the Niners doing as well as they were when I was a kid. It’s my birthday and I hope to make it to San Fransisco for the weekend to watch the game. Go Niners!

How about mentioning the 600 girls from the local cheer squads that performed during halftime! Those girls were really stoked to be doing that and you chose not to mention them? They are fans too!
