Why would anyone suggest that Alex "lost" the Rams game before 'Kaepernick came back' to tie it? The Rams scored touchdowns on their first two possessions, while Smith was under siege from the very beginning of the game. Smith sustained his concussion during the third drive, which ended in a touchdown strike to Crabtree. Smith doesn't play linebacker. It wasn't his job to tackle Steven Jackson. The 49ers defense finally showed up in the second quarter, after Smith was already out of the game.

Harbaugh is a Great coach. Unfortunatly he has a Bigger EGO than his abilities or experience can handle. I understand, he wants his guys in there to make himself look good, that is understandable. What he needs to understand is that when you have a winner at a position you stay with them until they prove to not be winners anymore, period. His decision to sit Alex Smith was a terrible decision by a second year coach who thought he could do no wrong. If you look back over this season, you will see some questionable play calling and personel decisions. I think he went into this season with the intent of replacing Alex Smith with Kaepernick. When ever Alex got the offense going in their two losses before his benching, Harbaugh would bring on Kaepernick. Everytime, Smith came back in to long yards on third downs. I believe Kaepernick will be a Great Quarterback in the future. I hope they trade Alex Smith to an AFC team so we won't have to worry about him except in Super Bowls and regular season games. Considering that he got us into the Playoffs in what was really his rookie season, last year, he will be tough to beat from now on. He was not the overall first pick for nothing.

Regarding the game with the Rams, with two minutes to play and we are on the Rams ten yard line, instead of running the ball to force the Rams to burn their time outs, Harbaugh elects to have Kap throw the ball which stopped the clock following the incompletion. That is a rookie mistake by Harbaugh and frankly I thought he was better then that. That rookie mistake gave the Rams the game.

Harbaugh is in a very sticky situation. He is going to get criticized regardless. Anyone that says Alex would have or would not have won this game is not very football savvy. I have to believe Harbaugh and coaches know what they are doing, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.

It took a lot of guts on Harbaughs part, now we will see his resolve in going with Kaepernick. It certainly made our season a little more interesting!

I love Harbaugh and Alex and I LIKe Kap a lot BUT, let’s break it down. The QB position is all about WINS & LOSSES, PERIOD. Kap is 2-2 the Tie counts as a loss.

Let’s see what happens at New England because Miami is a gimme game. But I’m like many, in a tight game I’m worried with the kid.

Alex has proven his mettle and plenty good to win it all. So if Kap does, then we have two but we have one for sure in #11.

I give it two more games then this will be over one way or another.

Alex going to the Jets I think or wherever Roman may go. That's where this thing is really at.

If Kap stays at QB, we must win the Bowl this yr, period.

Alex Smith would not have lost this game. The 49ers deserve to lose because of the way they have treated him - no respect whatsoever. Now Miami actually has a chance to beat you next week. Sad!
