@49erguy true the bears is one of the better defenses when they are playing chumps like the falcons are,, every good team they played they got smashed, true akers didnt make all his field goals but 50 yrds is still a long try, without those ints the score would not have been 19-21,, brees was warming up after the kap pick saints would have scored at least 3 or 7 on one of those two drives that were ended by an int,, smith has done nothing but prove himself last yr and this yr right is right and wrong is wrong,, ppl call him conservative i say he takes what the defense gives him just cuz you have explosive te or wr dosent mean they are open everyplay,, come on now sure they been lockin up davis but wit alex being the qb he is it didnt matter he took what the defense gave him and threw how many tds to crabtree again?? after he started hot wit how many to davis??? get real he was donin wayy better than last yr,, west coast offense isnt about the deep ball,, i know ebery1 wants us to bee like the sorry saints and packers and patriots with their air attack but their game is inferior to ours which has been prooven the pats will get it too just wait

all9ers, I respect your opinion. Alex is a much different QB than Kaep. While I am still a huge Alex supporter, I am glad that I don’t have to make the decission on who to start. Whomever Harbaugh decides to start must be the best choice. I am fairly certain that he knows more about the team than any of us do. Kaep or Smith, GO NINERS!

@BD-Totally disagree with you about Alex, he would have lost against the Saints! If coach makes the wrong decision and keeps Alex, sure he might win again Rams, Hawks, Cards, etc.. but he will lose in the playoffs and for sure not win the superbowl. They stil could possibly win with Alex because of the Defense but not because of Alex helping much. Put it simply with Alex playing how he plays now they might have a 2% chance of winning, with Kap they have a 90% chance. That is the point and my opinion.

The Starting QB job belongs to Alex. I think that he would have played just as good or better than Kaep. Kaep is great, but Alex is still the better QB and needs to be back in the Starting line-up. I am sure that this will be Kaep’s team soon enough though.

Thanks to Hunter and Williams. You guys had great years. Good luck in your recoveries. You will want to be off of crutches for your trip to the white house next year. Also, make sure that you get your ring sizes into the league office.

@truefaith49–yes Kap did good against one of the worst defences (saints)but he did even better against one of the best defences(bears)

@ Sid.. two reasons. Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter. But now that Hunter is injured I would expect to see Jacobs out there from time to time, and even a little LaMichael James.
