Oh man….not the defense to have ur first start against Kap. Niners D is gonna have to have the game of their life to win this one.

Might have been a good idea to keep Josh Johnson. A backup without experience is a sure season killer.

People People come on! You will all see. Kap is the man and the future of this team. I wish my boy Alex all the best and well see you out there next week buddy, just rest up and get better. Kap has your back covered. I better not be able to hear the commentators on t.v tonight when I’m watching the game from my home in Wisconsin because I know if I was at the stick no one would be hearing anything!!!! GO NINERS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually i have high hopes for CK. He showed improvement after only one quarter last week and i think that Harbaugh knew the whole week Smith was out so he probably got Kaepernick ready. Plus if he dose win us the game tonight we might see less and less of Smith.

I have a good feeling about CK tonight. We need Alex Smith to finish out this year but remeber, the Bears are without their starter as well. 9er’s Baby!!!

if the offense line can block long enuff to give kap some time n the defense play like they did last year by getting TURNOVERS. plus all the recievers know where the first down marker is. LETS GO NINERS TIME TO WAKE UP N SMACK THOSE CUBS AROUND .just win.

SORRY FOR THE CAPS BUT VERY BAD EYES, SORRY AGAIN. KAPPY WILL DO A GOOD JOB AND HIS RUNNING ABILITY WILL GIVE THE BAD NEWS BEARS THAT HAS A DEFENSE THAT IS IN A WORLD OF THEIR OWN FITS. THEIR DEFENSE IS SCARY BUT THE NINERS HAVE THE WR’S TO GET IT DONE AND FRANK-TANK SCORE-GORE WILL WEAR DOWN THE D TO THE POINT THAT THE NINERS COME AWAY WITH THE VICTORY AS LONG AS AKERS CAN SPLIT THE UPRIGHTS A FEW TIMES. CAN’T WAIT…..

I think Colin can have a good game, when he see some pressure he have better mobility and can run better than Alex, just need to take the ball harder to avoid any fumble, hard game 49ers will win!!

come one everyone, we need to have faith in kaepernick. he can do it, we jus need to do what we do best and run run run, and our short check down throws. bears D aint close to ours. let go niner nation

  16. By jamie on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

Its not a lack of faith in Kap. Its inexperience which translates into the playbook being a lot smaller tonight. If they win its gonna be because of Gore and the D. U will see a very conservative game called tonight. Harbaugh isnt going to put the game on Kaps shoulders. Not against the Bears D.

  17. By rich on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

Kobie is an idiot, first off….and Dr. Garza should have his head examined…to all of you kaepernick lovers, you will finally get to see his lack of accuracy and inability to read a defense, hope I’m wrong, but hes a (very) poor mans Vick, who is garbage

  18. By rich on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

Walt, your right about our D to some extent. Our front seven is better, but our DB ‘s arent even close…and of course Goodwin will get a personal foul called on him in a critical situation, like he always does.

  19. By crabber59 on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

Time to show what you got Kap, I say come oot of the gate throwing&running like a madman. The niners D will keep you in the game just don’t be foolish with the
    ball

  20. By Chuck on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

Kap’s feet will keep the D honest. Time for the 9er fans to rally behind the backup and not rip either QB.

  21. By mainstreamsux on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

It will be the battle of the defenses, unfortunately. All the Alex bashers will want him back after this one. Not sayin we lose, but it’s gonna be ugly. I wonder how they got Kaep ready for this if he took no extra reps all week? Harbaugh had to know Alex wouldn’t start yet Alex got all the reps with the first team. If anyone can get get Kaep ready it’s JH. Crossing my fingers on this one…not too confident with that horrid tie just a week ago and Fred P. Soft lurking. Still, Go Niners.

Kap’s been a winner all his lilfe. I’ve witnessed it since he was a kid. Tonite’s no different and the world is gonna see a bad Mo Fo. Remember Steve Young was a back up prior to being a star. Niners come out smoking.

  23. By niners fool on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

Even with Smith this game is to close to call! Its not like smith is A drew Breese or Tom Brady! Niners wont see another ring until they have an elite QB under center…… and that is neither of these guys!!!!!!!!!!

  24. By Airbaugh on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

Medical health is first. They should’ve never even thought of playing Smith even if he was cleared. A concussion is one thing but when you start losing your sight it’s a different sort of concussion.

I’ll have to question Harbaugh on his neglecting to give 4q snaps to the second stringers during those 30pt victories. You always want to build your team and get a definitive feel for what they’re capable of. You can only tell so much in practice.

Harbaugh needs to get off of the AS bandwagon and regain his objectivity for the sake of our team.

Oh it’s like music to my ears. Now please Kaepernick don’t let me down tonight. Especially us fans who are tired of A. Smith. Protect the ball make a smart decisions and run when you have too. Find your play makers on time. Use the weapons and I mean other than Crabtree and Gore. This is your opportunity. Lets use Jacobs for this game so they don’t beat up on Gore to much. I hope our good D shows up tonight.

Colin Kaepernick will start and finish tonights game , I being a lifer niner fan am very excited and looking forward to see what plan they put together for him, i believe he will be effective and play well enough in his debut to pull out a victory. To be an elite team you have to have qaulity players in all positions including back up Q.B. Will welcome Alex smith back against the saints..GO NINERS BEAT THOSE bears..

I have always been an Alex fan and always said he was going to be a top rate nfl qb……and with the right coaching staff and great playbook he has shown us that. I wouldn’t trade Alex for another qb in the nfl. I’m glad they didn’t rush things and get him back in to soon…his health is the main thing and we want Alex for the big picture…..I have great faith in Colin and I know he can get the job done….don’t know about all my niner brother’s and sister’s out there, but something is telling this niner fan Colin is going to give there D a tough time…..knock there as# out niner D and Colin tear them up, I have complete faith in you…..goodluck and get us that W…….get healthy Alex we miss ya dude.

Kap will be OK. It would be great if he’s given the freedom to run outside the pocket once in a while. As long as there’s only one turn over, we’ll be fine!!!

I wish Alex was playing but this will be a test for the 49ers in case Alex get hurt in the playoffs

  31. By Charliefromsantacruz on Nov 19, 2012 | Reply

CK is a year away. He will win tonight and our big guys will make him look good. There is always the chance, though, he will make mistakes Alex DOESN’T. Niners win 21-10.

C’mon ye ‘ol 49er faithful. As much as we think we can predict what’s going to happen tonight with Kap in & Alex out vs the Bears, remember this. 49ers CRUSHED the Jets. Then the Rams TIE the 49ers,(they really out played us and should have won). Then the Jets SMOKE the Rams a week later. It’s NFL football who knows???
All we DO know is that we don’t want another snooze fest like last night’s Pit/Balt tilt. Run all night CK and when you can’t, dump it off to Frank and Vernon and let them do the rest. Also… will the equipment manager please hide David Akers’ sleeping mask. Thanks

Alex has always been a middle of the road quarterback, the thing that always always always bothered me about him is, he’s almost too safe. I understand when you have a great defense, take the sack, punt the ball and let the defense get it back, no big deal. But if any defender gets within 3 yards of Alex he falls on the ground in the fetal position, even in ‘pinch’ situations. I like Alex, don’t get me wrong, and if you want a quarterback to be safe with the ball, that’s him, but…. you gotta make plays too. Go Cap…. Get better Alex… GO NINERS!!!

The 49ers played their best defense all season: This one would have been a shut out, but a legal push in the back was ruled illegal and turned a failed fourth down into a first down. The special teams played very well. The Bears challenged Kaepernick to throw against soft coverages, and they got burned.

It was a great game for Kaepernick. Can he do it against the blitz? Can he play well when down a score or two? Can he play well when his defense isn’t playing at its best? Do you trust Kaepernick to win against the Saints in New Orleans next week?

Whatever might have impressed you about Kaepernick’s performance this week, if you are a 49er fan, you want Alex Smith’s experience next week.

PHATAL, not to worry pal. What the great Saints D is going to beffuddle the youth??? Pleeez!
I’m not a bottom line guy so much but consider this: YA GOTTA SCORE TOUCHDOWNS. KAP does, ALEX, not so much.
Biggest part of that win was playing from a lead- the D could afford to let it rip and not have to play so tight. They had a reasonable chance of scoring more points if a sack rush backfired.
This team is freakin AWESOME now, the rest of the league should be very afraid…
