@Davealex66, that sir, was well said. I have been trying to get that very point across to 11years with no brain for 8 months now. indeed, every single one of your points is well validated ,and well said. I deem the alex bashers to be band wagon jumping fans to begin with. fans who obviously jumped off ship after the garcia period and with the new found sucess have jumped back on the wagon remembering the play of alex at the beginging of his career and blame him for all the losing, right up to the point when harbaugh took over. and with the loss to the giants in the champshp game, blame alex for everything,,,,,again....
alex smith has absolutley turned it around with coach harbaugh. will he ever be brees or brady like, at this point one would have to say no, but with the current squad we have,we dont need that kind of qb play. alex is well suited to lead this team to a super bowl and quite gifted enough to win it. g'day mate, and hoist a few frosty's for us yanks across the pond. GO 49ERS!!! IN HARBAUGH WE TRUST

Yes I got your point, the cowpies don't make the SB in 91? if they don't get Haley< yeah? The Elephant position was created by Bill to keep Fred Dean on the field and get the QB ?
Yes we did have to trade Haley, Seifert told the team they were going to watch a film of a team that played Defense 'RIGHT' that put Haley over the top, he demanded to be traded and he became a cancer in the locker room.
Anytime I hear Haley's name I think of Dean, what Haley was for the cowpies Dean was for us IMHO !

Ps; (with a low % risk. Enough said!) should say - with a high % gain. Enough said!...This being at the end of the second paragraph. *Sorry about any confusion I may have created by this 'typo'.....And by the way, I'm hoping that we do go ALL THE WAY this year, with both Alex and Michael being huge contributors amongst the rest of the team. At least then all those persistent 'knockers' of these two lads would have to eat huge quantities of 'humble pie' and may well even choke on it!!!

9ers ALL the WAY 2012..........

* I'm a 9ers fan for all of my life, and I live on the other side of the world here in Australia. I have read all the 'posts' here on this 'thread' and I'm disappointed to see that there are still so many 'fans' and 'armchair critics' that seem to think that they know more than the 9ers couching staff! What the hell does Alex have to do to 'satisfy' and 'appease' some of you lot? Why are some of you still 'bashing' him even though he has to his credit turned his game around 180%? To my mind, it takes a good 'D', a good O', and a good 'ST', and in NO particular order, to win games consistently, it's ALL about a sustained COMBINED effort!

I do however believe that a top team must have a great 'D' in order to prevail in the long run. The Dolphins of the 80's is a prime example of that! If you 'bleed' points in games you are going to lose more often than you win, good 'O' or not! To me, Gridiron is a game of yardage and percentages! To go 'deep' all the time is a 'foolish' ploy indeed, it's a narrow minded view of how the game, or QB's should play the game. To me, going deep/long is a low % gain, with a high % risk. To throw short is a medium/high % gain, with a medium % risk. To run the ball is a low % risk, with a low % risk. Enough said!

#11, I have found some of you comments to be offensive, short-sighted, naive, and confrontational to say the least! Should you seek to engage with other 'fans' and come across with a decent amount of 'credibility' you may want to think about engaging the brain before you engage the mouth! Ps; a little knowledge of the game and it's many intricacies wouldn't go astray either.......

Go 9ers, LOVE and Respect from down under!!!!!!!!!!!
