Jim Harbaugh Applauds Birth of Jaxon York

Posted by Taylor Price on October 27, 2012 – 2:54 PM

The San Francisco 49ers added depth on Saturday. CEO Jed York announced the birth of his first-born son, Jaxon Edward York, midday Saturday via his Twitter account.

York’s head coach, Jim Harbaugh, applauded the York family for their big news during his Saturday briefing prior to a Monday night matchup in Arizona.

“Very excited for Jed and Danielle York and the entire York family,” Harbaugh said to open his press conference.

“Good measurable and a strong name,” Harbaugh said of the newest member of San Francisco’s extended football family. “The 49ers have added more depth.”

Off the field as well as on the field has been a fruitful week for the 49ers.

San Francisco’s head coach feels like his team benefited from an extended week of preparation coming off a Week 7 win over Seattle. With the extra practice time to prepare for Arizona, Harbaugh felt like the 49ers made the most of it.

“It’s been a real productive week and still more to go,” Harbaugh said.

Asked about his playing recollections of “Monday Night Football,” the 49ers coach who played 15 seasons as a quarterback in the league simply replied, “some good, some bad.”

San Francisco’s current team is looking to carve out its own Monday night memories. The team should be close to full-health heading into its second conference matchup of 2012.

Frank Gore, who rushed for 131 yards last week despite suffering bruised ribs against the Seahawks, should be fine for Monday night according to Harbaugh.

“He looks good,” the 49ers coach said.

Alex Smith also had a good week of preparation according to Harbaugh, showing no signs of lingering pain from an injured middle finger on his right hand.

“Good week throwing the ball,” Harbaugh said of Smith.
