49ers Hire New Chief Financial Officer

Posted by Taylor Price on October 23, 2012 – 4:23 PM

The San Francisco 49ers named a new Chief Financial Officer this week in news first reported by Fortune Magazine.

Former Facebook VP of Finance Cipora Herman will join the 49ers front office, taking over for current CFO Larry MacNeil, who will stay on with the team as the Executive Vice President of Development.

Team President Gideon Yu told Fortune MacNeil will remain active in the team’s new Santa Clara Stadium project to make sure it’s going to be “the best sports venue in the NFL.”

“This is a dream job,” Herman told Fortune’s Daniel Roberts. “After five years at Facebook, rolling up my sleeves through a lot of the formative years of the company, it was just the right transition point for me.”

Yu previously worked with Herman at Facebook and Yahoo.

“Cipora is one of the top financial executives in the business,” Yu told Fortune. “We are thrilled to have her join us.”

Love the moves you made this year to make being a season ticket holder feel more rewarding, appreciated and down right excited about being part of the NINERS Family.
