Jed York Statement on Steve Sabol

Posted by Alex Espinoza on September 18, 2012 – 11:32 AM

NFL Films co-founder and president Steve Sabol passed away at the age of 69 on Tuesday. San Francisco 49ers Chief Executive Officer Jed York issued the following statement on Sabol’s passing:

“On behalf of my entire family and the San Francisco 49ers organization, we would like to pass along our sympathies to the Sabol family and everyone at NFL Films. Steve helped to bring the 49ers into the homes of our Faithful fans around the world for many years. His work humanized the players, coaches and people who have made the National Football League so great. Steve’s passion for this game is something everyone in the NFL community has always respected.”

Those of us fortunate enough to have met him or known him however briefly can understand what a great loss this is. He was a force of knowledge and enlightenment, not just in the NFL but in the world.
    Miss him already…

At the next game Vs. the Vikings, would be nice if both owners together ask for a moment of silence for Steve Sabol at the game at the Great Mall of America.. kudos for Jed’s statement, wish our next game was at home.
