The San Francisco 49ers announced they have waived CB Curtis Holcomb.
Holcomb was originally selected in the seventh round (250th overall) by the 49ers in the 2011 NFL Draft. He spent the 2011 season on Injured Reserve after being injured in training camp. A 23-year old native of Miami, FL, Holcomb starred collegiately at Florida A&M where he was a Third-Team All-American selection and Second-Team All-MEAC honoree, as a senior.

In a few months, fans will forget about Curtis Holcomb. He is one of the NFL’s many victims of the triple-whammy of rookie off-season lockout, season-ending training camp injury, and his former team’s successful free agency and draft strategies during the following year.
