wow have you not watched any of the games alex has to telegraph his throws with the longest delivery i have ever seen by a NFL QB ….let alone the ducks that come out of him when a guy is wide open …yet i will pause and say he threw with a purpose to oust the saints and that was and still is his only game besides the TB game where he showed anything other than ho hum checkdown again ….still with the year under KP and others in the mix i believe alex will be a back-up for the next 3 years as he should be after blowing his only year to make the big game as starting QB

11 years you once again prove that you dont watch our games,,alex had an incredible season under norv turner as OC,,and the away game that year in seattle,,during a monsoon I might add,,was one of his personal best’s,,a 4th quarter comeback,,you have no clue,,your just a alex smith hater trying to spread your hatred like cancer,,even former coach singletary said alex has shown here and there that he can make all the throws,,this will be the very 1st time alex will have a 2nd year in the same system,,you should either support the guy playing qb for our team or go root for another franchise,,

Eleven yrs. with Alex? Really? We drafted Alex in 2005.Seven yrs ago.Seven different offensive cordinators in seven yrs.Not even Joe Montana could survive
that!!!!It takes a good 3yrs to become a good GB.Steve Young was a backup to JoeMontana for seven yrs.!!Do The Math

WHY DO YOU REAL 49ERS FAN ‘S KEEP RESPONDING TO 11 YEARS WITH ALEX HES A COWBOY FAN IGNORE HIM. WE WILL TRADE OUT OF OUR 1ST ROUND PICK SO DO NOT GET EXCITED AT 30. AND YOU K NOW THWY NEED TO GO TO 5 MINUTES PER TEAM PER PICK FOR ROUNDS 1 THROUGH 3 . THEN 2 MINUTES . IF ALL THE OFF TIME YOU CANT KNOW YOUR PICK OR TRADE YOUR UPSTAIRS MANAGEMENT IS NOT DOING THEIR HOMEWORK . BUT WE ARE FORTUNATE NOT TO HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT THIS WE HAVE A GREAT TOP OFFICE GUYS TO , COACHES ,TO SCOUTS ,.

WHOA..did you read that the 49ers are going to bid for 2016 Super Bowl? How good is THAT ! ! ! And wouldn’t it be over-the-top if the 49ers got to be in that Super Bowl ! ! ! With the new stadium and all….lots of exciting times ahead, for sure !

  15. By Ladybug on Apr 16, 2012 | Reply

Benny is right…Alex Smith was drafted in the first round in 2005….Yup..seven years ago. Go look it up “eleven”…..

And Steve Young? Even with 7 years backing up Montana…it took him a year or so to get into being starting quarterback. I remember how people bad mouthed him at first because of mistakes he made…but in the end, his stats were better than Montana’s. Funny how people forget things like that.

  16. By SHIP on Apr 16, 2012 | Reply

Ladybug. Once again you are correct. We have thrown out all the facts in the past but they don’t care. Its like they don’t want to see AS succeed. I want to see whoever JH decides to start to succeed. As long as Harbaugh decides that person should start & they are the SF49ers starting QB, why in the hell wouldn’t you want him to succeed regardless of your opinion. Everything those 2 losers say basically tells you they don’t want him to succeed. That is NOT a fan. I say everyone on here JUST IGNORE THEM.

  17. By ELEVEN YEARS WITH ALEX on Apr 16, 2012 | Reply

man oh man you guys and your past QB’s…..that was before freeagency and when you got drafted you were on that team unless released ..and yes steve young never got alex money and steve is as you say the better QB….next it is not that i dont want him to succeed …he cant and has not even progressed as far as his technique wich is shotty and not even his happy feet have gone away after 8 years of being in NFL training camps …come on people not one person can teach you how to be a leader …sich alex is obviously not a leader or he would have shown it last year whenthe defense was handing him games and he was shotty at best to try and win them

  18. By ELEVEN YEARS WITH ALEX on Apr 16, 2012 | Reply

the fact that you believe that if we wait even more years that eh will all of a sudden gain an arm and accuracy and talent and leadership all in one offseason when he has had 6 of em and still shows not one improvement over when he was drafted accept for the fact that he made it through a full season without being on the bench hurt ….wich is not that big of a deal since he still couldnt win with the best defense handing him games and even winning close games for him

  19. By ELEVEN YEARS WITH ALEX on Apr 16, 2012 | Reply

you seem to think it is hate …it is not it is his inablilty to progress….and yes sorry but steve young did need to wait because he was behind montana ..and who has more wins as a QB …Montana ..thank you …now to the business at hand ..if alex can progress any in the off season well we shall find out because i dont think with his ineptness and bad mechancis that he can talk his way to the starting QB again this year …..unless every QB is hurt

  20. By ELEVEN YEARS WITH ALEX on Apr 16, 2012 | Reply

this is of course all irrelevant till preseason begins so stop with the alex is king and he will be the man and he is better than steve young or Tebow or the hot dog guy …non of it matters ..but i will not sit here as you say he is awesome and can win the superbowl …he obviously cant …he had the best shot he will see in the next 3 years as a starting QB if he is in the end …so dont expect much of a differencefrom him he still is a bad Qb as far as skill and talent

  21. By the fanster on Apr 16, 2012 | Reply

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME,,,DO YOU REALLY THINK ANYONE READS YOUR ENTIRE POSTS,,KEEP WASTING YOUR FILTH TO ENTERTAIN YOURSELF,,ITS POINTLESS AND CHAOTIC AT BEST

  22. By gary potter on Apr 17, 2012 | Reply

yes 11 you are truly a clown. who on this blog said AS was a better quarterback than JM or SY?? no one that’s who. you inject whatever you want and try to make people believe it. AS is our quarterback plain and simple. if JH has faith in him we all should have faith also that goes for you jerkoff.

  23. By dave g. on Apr 17, 2012 | Reply

Gary Potter & Fanster you absolutely right! 11 exaggerates to “TRY” to make his point. No one said AS was KING or that he is better than Young. Tebow? WTF? For Gods sake, we just thought it was the smart thing to do to resign him & a chance with the same coordinator (at the very least) for at least 2 seasons based on what he showed us with last years obstacles. If he doesn’t start than he doesn’t start…that will be JH’s call as to what he thinks is best for the team. If Colin or whoever outplays him then they do & the best man wins. I don’t give a rats a$$ who it is as long as JH believes in him. And this idea that he somehow talked his way into being the starter is rediculous and insulting to JH. Really…you don’t think JH chose the guy who he thought gave him the best chance? Like Alex has JH under his spell? Are you that ignorant or that biased? Its obviously one of the two!

  24. By dave g. on Apr 17, 2012 | Reply

BTW: In Steve Youngs first 19 games in Tampa he was 11 TDs & 21 INTs and 55% completion percentage & his record as a starter was 3-16. Do you honestly think he would have become a Hall of Fame QB without finally getting a head coach who knows what he was doing? His resurrection did not just happen. If he does not finally get coaches around him who knows what they are doing, he goes down as a HUGE bust that no one ever gave a shot again & idiots in Tampa like 11 would keep saying get rid of him, get rid of him without looking at the big picture! We not saying Alex at this point is the next Young or Montana! We are merely saying lets see what he can do with some consistent coaching. 11 quit being over-dramatic! Geeeez
