Carmen’s Pro Bowl Diary: Sunday

Posted by Scott Kegley on January 29, 2012 – 11:00 PM

Aloha and happy gameday!

I couldn’t have been more excited the second I woke up this morning. It is finally here, the big day and reason we were chosen to be here….. It’s time for the 2012 Pro Bowl. Let’s go NFC!

We arrived at Aloha Stadium early this morning and people were already tailgating and waiting in line. When I was walking up to the stadium, I started to get butterflies in my stomach, but had a huge smile on my face. I saw so many 49ers fans on the way in and I knew it was going to be a good day.

We rehearsed quickly on the field and then started getting ready for all the pregame festivities. We performed at the VIP Tailgate Party where we were able to meet a lot of the fans before the game. It showed me once again that the 49ers Faithful are truly the best fans in the NFL! I definitely met plenty 49ers fans that day. Thanks to all of you who came out to support us at the game and the ones watching from home! You are very appreciated!

After the VIP Tailgate we headed back to the locker room to get refreshed before the game! We were all ready to get the game started.

As soon as we headed out to the field, the crowd began to roar in applause for our Pro Bowl cheerleading team! We took our places on stage to get ready for our introductions to the game. They announced each cheerleader, one by one, on stage with their name and team that they cheer for. That was probably the most magical moment. I stood in front of 40,000 people at the stadium that day, and also all the people watching at home, with so much pride knowing that I was there to represent the San Francisco 49ers and the finest dance team in the NFL, the 49ers Gold Rush. At that moment I couldn’t have been more thankful to have been chosen for the Pro Bowl. Honestly, I’m still in shock.

Our pregame performance with Hot Chelle Rae couldn’t have been any better and the game was so much fun. It was great to see the best football players in the NFL come together and play in one game! Congratulations to everyone who played, cheered and organized such an amazing event. I was so proud to be able to work beside every single person there. I also want to say thank you to all the fans, my teammates and coaches for helping me get here. It was a tremendous honor and a moment that I will never forget. Can’t wait to see all the Faithful again on the mainland next year at The Stick!

Who’s got it better than us? NOOOOBODY” Go 49ers!

Mahalo and Aloha.
- Carmen
