It’s now Saturday which means it’s time for Ohana Day at Aloha Stadium.
Ohana means family and it’s very similar to our 49ers Fan Fest. It gives a lot of the fans an opportunity to watch the players and cheerleaders practice and give them insight into who we are and what we do. We had some fun contests and great performances for all those who came out to the event.
It was split into two different segments, AFC and NFC. I was able to have my family and friends come and see all the hard work everyone had put in this week. We definitely put on a GREAT show!
After Ohana Day was over, we stayed at the stadium to continue working on all of our routines, including our big pregame performance. Trust me, It’s going to be a great show!
We finally ended rehearsal and rushed back to our hotels to get ready for the NFL Pro Bowl All-Star Block Party! They blocked off Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki to celebrate the Pro Bowl. They had bands, booths, NFL players, cheerleaders, mascots, food, NFL merchandise and a whole lot more. It was a fun night for fans to get excited for the big game the next day!
My group did about four performances, hosted a few touchdown dance contests to give away tickets to the game and held an autograph signing. These kind of events give us a great opportunity to actually talk to the fans and ask them what they are looking forward to the most. One of my favorite parts of the evening was when we got to introduce ourselves on stage and each do a team chant. And I think you know what I had to say… “WHO’S GOT IT BETTER THAN US??? …..NOBODYYYY!!”
Now that was a great day and I am about to get a good night’s sleep before the big game!
