Jennings Added to NFC Pro Bowl Team

Posted by Alex Espinoza on January 24, 2012 – 12:45 PM

The San Francisco 49ers announced that LS Brian Jennings has been named to the 2012 NFC Pro Bowl squad. Jennings was selected as this year’s need player by the Green Bay Packers coaching staff. It marks the second Pro Bowl selection for Jennings (2004). The team also announced that S Dashon Goldson and CB Carlos Rogers will not be participating in the Pro Bowl due to injury.

The 49ers now have nine representatives selected to the Pro Bowl – K David Akers, RB Frank Gore, S Dashon Goldson, P Andy Lee, CB Carlos Rogers, DT Justin Smith, T Joe Staley and LB Patrick Willis – marking the highest San Francisco delegation since the team sent 10 players following the 1995 season. In the past 60 years, the 49ers have sent five-or-more representatives to the Pro Bowl 35 times.

In 2011, Jennings played in all 16 regular season games and both postseason contests. His consistency and accuracy was vital as Akers set the NFL record for field goals made (44) and Lee set the league record for net punting average (44.0).

I loved the improvement I saw in our team, coaching staff, and the overall respect we earned from the league. I’m already looking forward to the draft, and I’m thinking BIG WIDE RECIEVER. I loved the unity within the huddle, and on the sidelines. As a psychotic 49er fan, I’m anticipating the pre season kickoff.

Oh, one other thing. Let’s show #11 some love with a new contract.

I almost forgot, we’ve got red and gold in the pro bowl. Go beat up on the AFC.

Vernon Davis should be there too

Davis, thought he was probably the offensive MVP right behind Gore for the 49ers, didn’t have a stellar season if you compare him to some of the other NFC tight ends (Graham, Gonzalez). I am excited to watch the other 9 49ers that did make the team thought. :)

THANK YOU 49ERS for a great season, the whole team played gread & had to connect on the fly since there was no off-season camps, i watched smash mouth football yes it was missing the over the top plays but every victory it was a 49ER team.. hell, i was not mad when we lost games, they never stopped playing, I hope Alex Smith will return, he has my vote,

I am happy for the 49ers being in Hawaii. We need to move on and try for next season. We should have only one thing in mind Super Bowl Champions for the 2012 season!
