Gameday Traffic Advisory

Posted by Scott Kegley on December 19, 2011 – 9:10 AM

With Monday Night Football returning to Candlestick Park, the San Francisco 49ers remind fans the game will start at 5:30 p.m. and should carefully plan their trip to the stadium.

Fans will contend with commute traffic, especially around the time the game begins. Jim Mercurio, Vice President of Stadium Operations and Security, recommends the following to help make the Monday Night Football game more enjoyable:

  • Carpool or use public transportation. Public transportation options for Monday’s game are available at the SFMTA web site.
  • Drivers should arrive at the stadium at least 90 minutes prior to kickoff.

The 49ers have special pregame entertainment and activities for fans that enter the stadium early, including a 50% discount on food and soft drinks at several concessions stands. The Grand Plaza opens at 2:30 p.m.
