If they relinquished him, are they signing up someone else/??
    Can we get Deshawn Jackson?

  2. By Corey From Colorado on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

Uhhh,….OK? Are there plans on replacing him? We cant rely on Ginn and who knows when Morgan will be back. I see this as a bad move. At very least even though he has been a complete waist of money it wouldnt have hurt to keep him for the Playoffs. IMO

y he was productive let treat or players like family

  4. By alex_fn_smith on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

i understand,he didnt quite turn out the way expected…but why get rid of him now? especially when we dont have anyone else,we have crabtree,an injured morgan,an injured ginn, and an injured williams, and some guy named swain?

  5. By alex_fn_smith on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

now unless were gonna go out and sign T.O….i dont get the logic

i say if it aint broke dont fix it,i say we do what weve been doing all year

im almost positive that we dont need to throw 5 touchdowns to beat green bay or the saints,i believe our defense can win it

im just curious too see what harbaughs got up his sleeve, something tells me we’re all in for a treat….GO NINERS!!!

i can honestly say this is the first thing harbaugh has dissappointed me on. edwards seemed to be a team guy. he wasnt complaining about playing time or being a disruption… maybe there was sumthan behind the scenes. idk. but i wish braylon the best. get healthy BE!!

you know what else would be cool…get ronald johnson back,i dont know why we released him,he was pretty good,or joe hastings,2 good draft picks just sitting at home eating leftover ham

obviously jim has something cooking or he would not have released edwards ,like to know what he is up to.

Ive been critical of some of the moves that this coaching staff has made when the season first started, But their decision panned out so far, this one seems more like a chess move I wont be surprised if they resign him next year or even sooner. or maybe they have someone on the P-Squad. Am sure they have a plan going forward this move seems more to distract other teams than anything. Its like the in the game calls they stick to the game plan even when we are down. I say “Chess Move”

  18. By NINERFAMILY4LIFE on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

I strongly believe that Coach H. is doing exactly what he’s been doing all year and that’s proving that he knows exactly what he’s doing. One thing is certain he’s always got a Trick Up His Sleeve. Niner Faithful let’s just enjoy the ride. WHOOOOOO’S GOT IT BETTER THAN US!!!!!

  19. By NINERFAMILY4LIFE on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

OH! As far as Braylon E. goes. He’s been getting paid for exactly nothing but licking wounds. I’m not taking anything from the man as a Pro. or from his talent but he’s been ineffective and we’re still winning. My Mama always said, “Nothing in the world is free.” Good Luck To You Braylon.

  20. By Avi on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

Why don’t they keep him? Get him fit and ready for next year.. What a waste of a talent.. Getting rid of a true athlete like Braylon they don’t come around everyday.. bring him back……………….

BRING BACK T.O !!! bring back t.O for playoffs will help are redzone

  22. By Montana the greatest on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

I’m sorry but I don’t believe the 49ers can beat the Saints without any kind of deep threat down the field. We can’t just run the ball and kick field goals all game and then simply rely on our defense to stop that scoring machine. The Niners defense have not faced any kind of offense like the Saints all season. We must score Touchdowns!! I say forgive T.O. and bring him in.

  23. By Mauricio on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

they waived him?? no sence We have so lil receivers active. whos goign to do most of the work crabbtree? morgen gin williams are out for who knows how much ya they still got davis big help and walker who could make plays. WE NEED MORE. wrong move

  24. By Jack on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

I understand why we aren’t interested in TO but how about Randy Moss? He would strech the field and be a good compliment to Crabtree.

  25. By Ian on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

i wish we would have went out and got “B” Lloyd back. what a niner. he just wants to win. not gonna happen in STL.

  26. By CJ on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

I sure hope we can get another reciever because we lookin mighty thin at that position. hopefully we can get somebody tall, with hands and a little speed because we will need a 6’3-6’4 reciever in the red zone for the fades and jump balls. I still ride or die for my team though!

  27. By a4niner on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

Why not sign T.O. sure he is a diva. But he is hungry and we sure could use him

  28. By randy kirchhevel on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

i cant believe they let braylon edwards go get rid of swain for crying out loud when the niners pick somebody up that you like then they go get rid of him i feel that is rude after being on the team for almost the hole season he hasnt complained at all he is hurt when he is healthy he will contribute and do his part i tell you people just dont care about the person its about money

  29. By randy kirchhevel on Dec 28, 2011 | Reply

let braylon finish out the season at least they could do that

    GO 49ERS

LOL..who he is, idk either..hope he can catch

  36. By alski on Dec 29, 2011 | Reply

i really don’t get the point of waiving Edwards. Yeah i know he hasn’t been the receiver we wanted him to be but thats because of the injuries and connection with smith due to the short training camp. but Edwards, once 100%, can be a deep threat the we need down the road especially in the playoffs. Harbaugh needs to pull a miracle to fill that spot cause the return of Morgan is still questionable. Maybe bring back Dominique Ziegler?

  37. By Reza on Dec 29, 2011 | Reply

We needed Braylon. I was hoping he would be fired up for play off’s after his injury. Why did they waiver Braylon.? Why.?

  38. By JMAC on Dec 29, 2011 | Reply

Sign TO, he has A LOT experience, he is A HUGE COMPETITOR and MOTIVATED to win a ring, AND HE IS A VERY PHYSICAL RECEIVER THAT WOULD FIT PERFECTLY WITH OUR RUN GAME. We could sign him this week and just put him in on some RUN BLOCKING PLAYS AND SEE IF HE CAN BE HUMBLED AND PLAY FOR THE TEAM WHICH I THINK HE WILL BECAUSE HE HAS REALLY MATURED IN BUFFALO AND PRODUCED IN CINCINNATI WITH SIMILAR IF NOT WORSE QB PLAY THEN IN SF OVER THE YEARS. It would give our other receivers more chances to get open AT THE VERY LEAST AND WOULD BE A GREAT STORY FOR THE 49ERS AND HARBAUGH… WHO HAS IT BETTER THAN US NOOOO ONE!!!

  39. By KDB on Dec 29, 2011 | Reply

Yes I have faith in what the coaches are doing it also sets the presedence that NO ONE is BIGGER than TEAM, good move and I wish Braylon well.

COACH HARBAUGH KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING.
HE HAS PROVEN THAT TO THE WHOLE WORLD.
HE FIXED THE LEAKS BEFORE HE WILL DO IT AGAIN

HAVE FAITH YOU MORONS I SHOULD NOT EVEN HAVE TO SAY THIS
    TO ANY NINER FAN.

  41. By Hermie on Dec 29, 2011 | Reply

Maybe there was something in in contract that made it more prudent to let him go now vs later. Just wasn’t able to get on the field enough to contribute in any significant way. For some reason we do not throw many “fades” once we get into the red zone…has to be receivers/QB can’t make those plays!

  42. By fknalexander on Dec 29, 2011 | Reply

really???!!!!???!!! he barely got here. okay you give ALEX SMITH 5 YEARS TO GET BETTER but you give BRAYLON EDWARDS 5 STARTS????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!

People it comes down to the rams game then the saints game. We have to win the rams game to give us any shot at winning in the post season. Why not put in someone from psquad…..someone that the other team has no film on.

fact he had the best hands on the team made some of the toughest catches when he was on the field big tough dude but we should trust Harbaugh he knows what hes doing ,, I hope

I think there is’nt one fan including myself that can dissagree with COACH HARBAUGH right now regarding the Waiving of a player even if it is a name player like Edwards.. Nobody can say that they absolutly knew, our legacy of winning would be returned to true 49er fans overnight in the fashion that COACH HARBAUGH & his staff have. We can all say that it would be a better year, but this good, nope none of us predicted that. My only concerne is a QB that has only 16 TD’s to show all year long is not going to beat Green Bay nor will it beat the Saints,.Heck Trent Dilfer back in the day threw over 20 the year the Bucs won the Super Bowl and he was terrible “great guy but horrific QB”.. We need to score 2 Td’s as a team per game plus our field goals and then the defense will win it for us no prob. Its great to have Faith but we also must be grounded about what is and what is not. QB????

  49. By NINERfan4ever on Dec 29, 2011 | Reply

Pick up T.O hes looking for a team, sign him up for a year and then if he does good sign him for more. What I mean by good is if he acts like a team player. We know he has the talent to do good but be a team player is something else, but give it a try they tried with this guy why not T.O?

I see it this way, most of all season Edwards only played so much. so please someone tell me where we need him after all? I feel we can win without Braylon. I know some of our players are hurt, but they will win. The 49ers are a team that can win without Braylon Edwards, so please stop panicing!!!!

  54. By Swyft on Dec 29, 2011 | Reply

PLEASE SIGN TO!!! He is a threat that will have to be accounted for opening up the not great red-zone offense. not to mention a great blocker fro Gore on the outside and down the field runs.

In Coach Harbaugh I Trust! This is a TEAM, and it has to stay that way. I would rather have a practice squad player who is hungry and the coaches trust, than anyone outside the organization. T.O. is the ultimate Mr. ME, ME, ME. If they brought him back I would throw up. Like Norv Turner, he can end it on the trash heap, where he belongs. No loyalty and a back stabber. Did any of you idiots commenting expect us to be competing for the the #2 overall spot in the NFC Playoffs? Go NINERS, Coach Harbaugh and Alex Smith. We will win with what we have here now. Suck it up and be a true fan.

niners fan since 1979 I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU, T.O. WOULD BE TO MUCH DRAMA, COACH KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING, EVERY TEAM THAT T.O. HAS BEEN WITH HAS LET HIM GO FOR A REASON, NOW DON’T GET ME WRONG, T.O. IS A VERY GOOD WR, HE IS STRONG AND FAST BUT HAS DROPPED A LOT OF BALLS .

NO BODY HAS IT BETTER THEN THE SAN FRANSISCO 49ERS AND THEIR TRUE FANS THAT NEVER B!TCH AND MOAN BUT TRULY SUPPORT OUR TEAM.

    GO 49ERS>>>>>>>13 AND 3 THIS WEEKEND>>>>>>>BLEED RED AND GOLD>>>>>>>

All this talk about T.O. scares me. Who in the world would want that self-centered egotistical s.o.b. back on the team? Doesn’t anyone remember how he screwed us before? I would much rather see some deserving practice squad members come up then to see us sign him, even if it’s just to relieve pressure on Crabtree.

I don’t get this ! Edwards has had some problems with injuries but still is a great WR… I guess the coaches know what they’re doing but which WR has got any experience in the post season ? I just read TO is still available….why the hell not ???

  60. By John Kreutzmann on Dec 31, 2011 | Reply

Why cut him now when so many receivers are hurt? What ever happened to our previous number 17 : Dominic Ziegler?? We really could use him now. He was a good receiver and Alex could really use him now!

  61. By Tony on Dec 31, 2011 | Reply

TO? Why would we want ol’ “alligator arms” back? How many times did Jeff Garciua hit that guy right IN THE NUMBERS and TO dropped the ball…

  62. By Henry Crick on Dec 31, 2011 | Reply

T.O. is definatley more problems than hes worth! Anybody remember the problems he brought to the team and how horriable he treated Jeff Garcia? Also his workout on ESPN he was winded and he wasn’t even in pads. Go with Hastings no film on him so give him a shot sunday. I’ve been as loyal as a dog with the 9ers since i started watchin football in 1984 (born in 1979). I bleed red and gold and never waivered. We have had a great year i’ve never been an Alex Smith fan but coach Harbaugh nows the QB spot as well if not better than the rest. He has made Alex into a top QB this year because he focused on the short gane (small ball). Thanks for a great season so far. GO 9ers!!!! Win like Joe and Jerry are in the huddle!!!!!

DIDN’T ZIEGLER LEAVE TO BECOME A PASTOR IN A CHURCH? I THINK HE LEFT FOOTBALL FOR GOOD!

I’M GLAD THEY CUT EDWARDS, TO MANY DROOPED BALLS, HE WAS NOT CONSISTENT WITH HIS QB AT ALL!!!!!!!
