#Vote49ers for 2012 Pro Bowl

Posted by Taylor Price on November 29, 2011 – 12:01 PM

The hard-working 49ers need some hard work from their Faithful fans in order to make the 2012 NFC Pro Bowl team.

That’s where you come in.

Vote as many times as you’d like from now until Dec. 19 to help send the key contributors to San Francisco’s 9-2 start to the league’s annual All-Star game.

Fan votes count for one third of the results, while votes from coaches and players account for the other two thirds of the equation. Vote early and often for members of the 49ers so they can play in the NFL’s annual All-Star game which takes place, Jan. 29, 2012 at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.

There are 49ers candidates within every position category on this year’s ballot. So make sure to vote often, and also download this 49ers Pro Bowl wallpaper.

Here are some of the many candidates worthy of inclusion on the 2012 Pro Bowl squad:

RB Frank Gore – Gore has shown no signs of slowing down in 2011. If anything, he’s proven to be the battle-tested bruising runner he’s always been. Already this season, Gore has posted a streak of five-straight games with 100 rushing yards. Currently, Gore stands in sixth-place on the NFL’s rushing list with 909 yards on 203 carries this season.

TE Vernon Davis – Davis’ team-leading five touchdown catches are third-most for NFC tight ends. The do-it-all tight end has multiple catches in every game this season, all while continuing his reputation as one of the league’s best in-line blocking tight ends.

LBs Patrick Willis and NaVorro Bowman – Stats need not apply in the case of Willis and Bowman, just game film. If curious, Bowman has 121 tackles to Willis’ 115 stops. But really, both linebackers have been impact players in their first year as a tandem. That’s been clear to everyone. Willis has four Pro Bowl appearances; will this be Bowman’s first invite?

CB Carlos Rogers – Rogers, who never had more than two interceptions in any year of his  seven-year career, recorded five interceptions in 10 weeks to start the season, including two in a big win over the New York Giants. Rogers’ 5 interceptions are tied for third-most in the NFL. The ranking of his post-interception celebrations is not known.

DT Justin Smith – Smith’s play has earned MVP praise from his head coach. That’s well-deserved considering the defensive lineman’s hustle has resulted in two wins this season. Timely plays against the Philadelphia Eagles and Giants compliment Smith’s weekly production. So far, he has 71 tackles and 4.5 sacks to go with his two forced fumbles.

LB Blake Costanzo – Costanzo, who likes to “live” on special teams with all-out hustle, has posted 13 special teams tackles in 11 games.

K David Akers – What an impact player Akers has been. Not only has he made a field goal in every 49ers game this season, he’s 6-for-6 from at least 50 yards out and is on pace to beat Jerry Rice’s all-time single-season 49ers scoring record.

P Andy Lee – Always steady, Andy Lee leads the NFL in net average (43.9) and has 16 punts downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard line.

I would vote for the whole team to make up the pro bowl team if I could. I would love to see the niners play one day but it will not be this year.

Dont forget Iupati. He’s playing at a Probowl level. Our strong running attack is done mostly with him on point.

Read all of these great glowing and well deserved props. And I agree with every positive one. Since no one hereon indicated one way or the other, have to ask and/or remind one and all – Did you also make it a point to vote several times? Not shown here, but place to do so is NFL.com – I’ve been there a number of times. And now that I’m reminded – I am going back again right now and vote several more times for darn near every player of ours that is listed. Please everybody – Join Me! You will be glad you did.
