Can we please get a starting quarterback. Trade a second round pick for Kitna or Hoyer. This is going to be replay of last season if the QB situation remains the same. I think even Ryan Mallet could be the stater over what we have now. I was hoping he was the QB they were going to get in the draft. I hope all that reside in the front office take some action or we are doomed.

    THIS EXPERIMENT MUST END !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry to my fellow Niner fans but the Quaterback Whisperer himself will not be able to fix Alex Smith. He is a bust and we all have painfully lived through it year in and year out. We need to address this ASAP or we are doomed.

We can go after John Kitna (Dallas backuo) , Hoyer (Patriots backup) , Jeff Garcia . Personally I think Jeff Garcia would be an immediate upgrade over what we have now.

If we don’t do something fast it will be a replay of last year.

But I guess we will watch Alex throw the ball at the receivers feet or over their head. Can you say tipped and picked for 6. I think I’m going to go and throw-up. My stomach is starting to turn.

I like Alex Smith but as a seven year veteran why wasn’t he able to pick up the blitzes from the Saints. The OL has to block but still Alex looks so inept. Their must be a QB out their that the niners can trade for.

Preseason is preseason. And from the looks of things we are going to repeat last year if the management doesnt address the QB position. A.S. has been the QB for 6 /7 years and he hasn’t learned anything. He should have shine against the Saints and he didnt. I know is only one preseason game. But if he continues to falter we are going to be in trouble. Please save the season that hasn’t started.

Wow!! Go Niners!! The complaints keep coming. I really think that the coaching staff is doing a good job with this team! They are doing the best I have ever seen in the last 7 years of the niners. Harbaugh and all the others, real glad that they are are coaches. That said, I really believe in Alex and Colin this year. I see greater confidence!!I really believe we willl be better than what other teams and media has said about this team. Go Niners!!!

Ok …I agree the whole team looked rather slow at that game..it appears they are trying to grasp several changes…but still they are pro’s they should be ready to go. I have heard severa saying they are in a losing slump….you try your hardest and no results for so long and well you get kind of lack luster. It does appear the new staff is all over that though addressing several problems all at ounce good work guys keeep it up.

Now whats this with culpepper…an actual veteran well here we go we sill see just how fast he can get ready. I do think that …well i call him the BIG H…coach is trying to lose this season so we can get Andrew Luck. His job depends on results as well. On the other hand if Luck is that good than everyone will be trying to lose to get em lol. should be a crazy season…i seee…Rams/Cleveland in Super Bowl place your bets lol. Just want to see improvement somewhere on the team more sacks more picks…more TD’s and if we end up with Luck then so be it.

To all you so called Niner fans doubting our team. you should go ahead and switch to another team already. Getting really tierd of seeing so much doubt coming from the so called fans. Really, anyone who knows anything about football can understand that due to the crazy year (lockout) the NFL had, it has really taken it’s toll on our Niners. Yes, I agree that Alex Smith isnt the future. But I will support him now because by the looks of it. he Will be the QB this season. We cannot give up Faith simply because we are being forced to treat this year as a stepping stone to build the a foundation for the Harbarah era. Keep the faith. and support our team, no matter who’s under Center.

I believe the lock-out hurt the 9ers more than any other team. They have sooo many first year players and new playbook. Team like N.O. basically have the same coaches, playbook, players…so would expect them to win the first preseason game. 9ers will improve and O-line will start coming together. Need to get Goodwin in there and working with the other 1st team O-linemen. He is a Pro Bowler for a reason and will be calling a__ignments to the other linemen.

true niner faithful, i agree with you. but i believe that we will be in the run for the playoffs this year. if not dam well close. jim will do great things for our team. i believe he is saving the GOOD stuff for the regular season. THIS YEAR WATCH OUT FOR RED AN GOLD BABY!!!!!!!!!!!! GO NINERS!!!!!!!

  17. By Eleven on Aug 16, 2011 | Reply

So much was made of the N.O. pre-season opener, and rightfully so should our fan base & organization be concerned. Although rather than focus on the negatives, can we focus on moving forward to this saturday as we face a tall order in hosting the “Team of the Decades”. Let this saturday be a fresh start and better field to place fair judgement of our progress as a team. Stay poised 49er faithful, afterall…we are in the chosen year of 20-ELEVEN

I had fun to. It was my first time. Wont be my last. Glad 49ers did this for us fans. Took kids along and they had a good time. Been talking about it for two days. They are very happy.

  19. By Jason on Aug 16, 2011 | Reply

I want to start off and say I am not a alex smith fan, to me our organization messed up. They are trying. We should have picked up a vet qb when the free agent market opened up. There no way that your back up plan for ” if alex can’t get it done again” is a rookie qb, who will be a good qb but needs time. Haraba can’t do it all. Balke play your role better. So we will have to live with alex and try our best to support the team and him. We are niner fans. But please do not go out and get a old a** donte culpepper. Work with what you have and will win 4 too 7 games. So we wont be able to get Andrew Luck. So go after Carson Palmer. Thank you

  20. By Ron on Aug 16, 2011 | Reply

I have a question. After seeing all the sacks given up during the preseason game why wouldn’t the team go and sign a linemen instead of bringing in another QB. There are still good linemen out there i.e (Bryant McKinnie).

  21. By Jay on Aug 16, 2011 | Reply

We have a starting QB its Alex Smith, 11-85 connection lives!

  22. By Julie on Aug 16, 2011 | Reply

    Ron – I”m with you!

Until the OL gels (sooner rather than later, thank you!!), NO QB has a chance in the game!!

  23. By Ian in NC on Aug 17, 2011 | Reply

Are we throwing away the season for the Andrew Luck sweepstakes next year?? I hope not, but our qb situation looks questionable. Really, working out Culpepper??

  24. By jake on Aug 17, 2011 | Reply

Please can everybody calm down? We need one more qb we only have 2 on the roster.

  25. By michael on Aug 17, 2011 | Reply

we should of got a qb but will make due the o-line needs to play better we have the wepons for smith but i like colin i think hes going to be better then smith so dont give up fans i think we’ll be in the playoff hunt i’m from the eastcoast go niners
