Spillman (6-0, 199) originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the San Diego Chargers in 2009. He was claimed off waivers by the 49ers on October 12, 2010. Ok!
Please someone tell me if maybe we are in the Andrew Luck sweepstakes? We have not had a winning season in who knows how long, and we did not sign one strong statically FA. What is going on? It is becoming increasingly harder to remain a niner fan. Be one since 1980, breaks my heart that we seem to choose to loose.
Frustrated Fan In Memphis!!!

Next they’ll be signing a back up kicker or maybe lock in those water and towel folks before the other teams get them. The Yorks are saving money for the new stadium; if it gets built. There goes another LONG season.

seriously, why are we not signing any free agents that WEREN’T niners last year? Its time to get some more talent on this already talented team. We have holes, FILL THEM quickly before all the talent is gone to other teams. PLEASE END OUR SUFFERING!

Wow, what a pitiful week….everbody is dealing but us. Hell, I have been a Niner since the Brody days and I have to admit we have made our way to the lower third of the league……if I was a Multi Millionaire Free Agent would I want to come play for this Niner Team…..the Answer is No. Until we establish some credibility….no Middle to Big Names want to come to SF. Maybe that can put the Bills, Browns, Raiders and us all in our own special handicapped Division.

do the 49ers intend to sign frank gore or is he already taking too much payroll space. we are stuck with alex smith so, pray that their qb pick will learn fast. i have nothing against akers, but why release nedney in the first place? again, too much money? yeah, where is de bartolo?

HMM Baalke has a plan ????? What sign FA that we left out there on the market ??? What kind of plan is that ? Hoping no one signs players that we let go ? Obviously no one wants them . We do not have Wideouts or Cornerbacks so we sign linebackers and a kicker and a Qb that no one would have touched with a ten foot pole LOL Mcnabb would have been the guy to grab . Baalke is a joke !!!! A plan does not mean it makes sense. I have a plan but whether it is good or not is the question . It doesnt sound like a very good plan right now LOL

I feel the same way johnnywar does we sign all these no noame bumbs and signing noone who can help our team. theres still quality players on the market and we havent made a move we got 20mill in cap they need to stop being not onlt stingy but stupid and go sign some real players and relase alex smith and dpo something to help the team and now the card are trying to get brylan edwards topair with fitz and not only that we havent adressed our d either i’ll bethe first to say it and i been a 49er fan since montana the west coast dont work without the correct players and im not trying to see another loseing season, the yorks need to getrid of harbaugh and his whole staff if we loose this seanson right along with baalkie the gm if we loose.

Hey everyone the niners are going to have a bad year, they don’t want to spend any money not really sure why. Long term though we should have a good qb next season. Maybe that is the plan, to draft luck. go 9ers

By Noel on Jul 31, 2011 | Reply
please, please, please NO GOLDSON……..he has no idea where the ball is, let alone be within 10 feet of any player with the ball………he sucks, let him go somewhere else and sign a player that has a clue.

Maybe we can get Stanfords secondary. It’s going to be another long season.

Spillman deserves a chance in the secondary.. He did pick off Nate Davis during the San Diego vs 49ers preseason game..

Honestly you all complain about how we need to get big name players, you make me laugh. How do you think each player got there start? not everyone that is great has been a known name from the start. until there is some actual football played you should just sit down shut up and support your team. Im not just talking about spillman its everyone who complains about any no name player we sign. Im sure none of you that commented slamming the niners is playing pro football right now. theres no point in saying something when you yourself sit on a couch every sunday and watch. I agree it sucks that we have to watch our team lose alot but until we can get some cohesion within the team we wont win. The talent will be there but will the team? By that I mean will they be able to read each others reactions and work as a unified element. Until mid way through the season everyone should just watch and be patient. rome wasnt built in a day and we just got a new coach. patience.

ARE YOU GUY’S ACTUALLY NINER FANS,CAUSE YOUR WHINING LIKE A BUNCH OF RAIDER FANS.
By zilla414 on Aug 3, 2011 | Reply
the Niners picked up this guy for special teams purposes.
with Brad Seely as the new Special Teams Coordinator- this move and the acquisition of the other “no name” DB’s- give Seely and Secondary Coach- Ed Donatel- a lot of flexibility.
so all you in need of bringing on big names with big contracts- check the Veteran coaching staff that Harbaugh brought in. realize that this organization is looking to bring a development type culture here- mush like in New England.
so relax- in thru the nose- out thru the mouth….
