49ers Show More Character on Twitter

Posted by Taylor Price on February 22, 2011 – 11:13 AM

The San Francisco 49ers have been Tweeting since the start of the 2009 season with more than 4,600 tweets to our name. But as of Tuesday, Feb. 22, we’ve changed that name from @SF_49ers to @49ers.

With tweet real estate maxing out at 140 characters, we know how precious each character can be. That’s why we’ve shortened our name to let you, the 49ers Faithful, have more space to interact with us.

And so far, the reviews have been positive.

@stryker9 replied to us, “@49ers those extra three characters are important…thanks!!!”

Make sure to follow us for exclusive team content and information which we post all year round.

I AM STILL WAITING TO HEAR HARBAUGH’S EVALUTON OF DAVID CARR. HE WON THE PRE-SEASON GAMES,HOWEVER, HE RECEIVED NO CREDIT. SINGLETARY’S UNEDUCATED OPINION HURT CARR. REMEMBER, IN MARCH WHEN LOTS OF TEAMS WANTED CARR. BUT HE THOUGHT HE WOULD RECEIVE AN HONEST CHANCE WITH THE NINERS. HARBAUGH COULD TALK CARR TO THE PLAYOFFS AND BEYOND.

TomTom couldn’t talk Carr to the playoffs. The 49ers need a new QB unless Alex Smith can work in sync with Harbaugh like he did with Norv Turner.

I heard Bob Sanders purchased a home in Cali a few weeks before he got cut. If the man stays healthy we’ve seen what he can do. I’m sure he can’t demand top dollar based on recent number of games played (or not played). Could be an AMAZING addition!!

I’m remaining optimistic about the upcoming season. I’m ready to see what we do in the draft and free agency. Come on Harbaugh and Balke-Build a Winner! Go 49ers!

i think that we should not get rid of alex smith i feel like we need to draft another quarterback and a conerback high in the draft

David Carr also kept us out of the playoffs by losing the game in Carolina… he needs to be cut immediately.. i would rather see Andy Lee at QB

we need to sign patrick peterson, bob sanders, oj otogwe, nhamdi asomugha, von miller, a big reciever, and switch the defensive line taking out sopoaga and putting in ricky jean francois ,and taking either haralson or lawson out putting brooks in foe more action as well as laboy

Carr is not a bad quarterback. You can have the best team on paper, but if you do not have the coaching to go with it, you have nothing. Case in point, the Dallas Cowboys and our 49ers.

I like Pat Devlin QB for our third round pick and Justin Roper QB as a free agent pick up out of Montana.

How come nobody is talking about Troy Smith as an option for QB? Give the kid a decent chance.

Ive been a 49er fan since I was five years old and since Jed York took over the team he has made the 49ers a joke of a team. What we need is ED DeBartalo and Carmen Policy back. Those guys knew how to make a winning team.
