Combine All-Personality Team
Posted by Taylor Price on February 28, 2011 – 7:20 PM
More than 300 draft eligible players took part in the 2011 NFL Scouting Combine and we heard from a good amount of them. There were great quotes given by the prospects and impressive attitudes being displayed throughout.
Granted, sound bites don’t equate to enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but it can make a media member’s life much easier.

INDIANAPOLIS – That blurry image you see on the right side of the picture is a lineman running his 40-yard dash. Yes, linemen run the 40 and take part in the field drills which can be seen on NFL Network.

INDIANAPOLIS – The media work room is fairly quiet right now, but that will soon change. Quarterbacks, running backs and wide receivers will be arriving in the room shortly and things should pick up fast.

Harbaughs on NFL Network
Posted by Sam Good on February 24, 2011 – 12:40 PM
Sometime next season, Jim and John Harbaugh will be foes. But until the 49ers and Ravens meet on the gridiron, they’re still just the first brothers to simultaneously be NFL head coaches at the same time.
Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine, the Harbaughs were on the set of NFL Network discussing their relationship, their teams and what they expect to see at this year’s combine.

INDIANAPOLIS – We’re back at Lucas Oil Stadium for our annual pilgrimage to the NFL Scouting Combine. We’ve just arrived in the media work room here at the home of the Indianapolis Colts and it’s completely full of reporters looking to hear from the top prospects. The coffee shortage is a great indication of the turnout this year. Not to worry, plenty of decaf is still available.

Clark, Seifert to be Inducted into BASHOF
Posted by Sam Good on February 23, 2011 – 5:18 PM
You’ve seen it all across the Bay Area. 1981 NFC Championship Game. Candlestick Park. Fifty-one seconds left. Back of the end zone. Full extension. Touchdown.
Now the man who made The Catch will be enshrined in the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame.
Dwight Clark is one of four members of the BASHOF Class of 2011, and he’s not the only one with 49ers connections. Two-time Super Bowl-winning coach George Seifert is also a member of this year’s class, which is set to be enshrined on March 7.

49ers.com Heads Back to Indy
Posted by Scott Kegley on February 22, 2011 – 12:43 PM
Each year, front office staffs from all 32 NFL teams head to Indianapolis to see the top college prospects perform as they try to improve their stock for the draft. Taylor Price and I won’t be running the 40-yard dash (wouldn’t want to make anyone look bad with our sub-4.4 times), but we will be in attendance as well to cover the event with blogs, stories, videos, photos and more.

49ers Show More Character on Twitter
Posted by Taylor Price on February 22, 2011 – 11:13 AM
The San Francisco 49ers have been Tweeting since the start of the 2009 season with more than 4,600 tweets to our name. But as of Tuesday, Feb. 22, we’ve changed that name from @SF_49ers to @49ers.
With tweet real estate maxing out at 140 characters, we know how precious each character can be. That’s why we’ve shortened our name to let you, the 49ers Faithful, have more space to interact with us.

NFLN’s Mike Mayock Talks Draft
Posted by Taylor Price on February 17, 2011 – 6:06 PM
This time of the year is Mike Mayock time. The NFL Network’s draft guru is a prominent figure as soon as the Super Bowl wraps up and the collective NFL eye turns to draft talk. He’ll be featured on the network several times to share his views leading up to the April event. And like every year, Mayock devotes time to talk about the draft to inquiring reporters who want to get a feel for his evaluations.
