Saturday Update from 49ers HQ

Posted by Taylor Price on November 27, 2010 – 2:21 PM

In response to the NFL fining the Denver Broncos for a videotaping infraction that took place before the Oct. 31 game at Wembley Stadium, the 49ers released the following statement Saturday:

“The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the results of the league’s investigation involving the Denver Broncos. The situation has been addressed by the NFL, therefore, the team will not be commenting any further.”

Coach Mike Singletary was asked about the news and wasn’t too talkative about the subject. He insisted that reporters ask about the 49ers Monday night matchup against Arizona.

“I’m not even concerned about that,” Singletary said when asked if he’d had heard anything from Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels. “That’s behind us and we’re moving on.”

Other news from a rainy day of practice included:

Joe Nedney being doubtful for Monday’s game as well as cornerback Will James, who is recovering from a concussion suffered against St. Louis. Shane Andrus will resume kicking duties if Nedney can’t go.

Tackle Joe Staley is the only player ruled out for the 49ers and veteran Barry Sims should remain in the starting lineup for Staley at left tackle.

The 49ers will leave for the desert Sunday afternoon and we’ll resume our coverage on 49ers.com all day Monday leading you up to kick-off.

Denver Broncos are a bunch of cheaters personally I think da 9ers should get a first round draft pick from denver. As for da patriots I think dey should b stripped of der super bowl championships for da tymes dey wer accused of cheating. I dnt think dats a champ to me. Bill walsh,Vince lambarti,Bill cower,John madden, nor tom landry had to cheat to get to der rings dey lead n out dualed der oposition. Dey n der team fought n earned der chamionship. Dats ma thoughts on dat. Da league should reward da 9ers for that. Dey did dat for wen da jets tampered da crabman.

in life its not always the one who sacrifies and works harder that will win just ask belicheck and mcdaniels. Still no excuse Singeltary believes at a certain level alot of teams no what your going to do they just can stop you. My problem is the disrespect to the game, pete rose soild the game and was 86′d while bill cheatacheck was forced to give up a 1st round and then was given randy moss for free. I hate the raiders and rodger godal you really disappointed me

EXCEPT for Patrick W. Our defense SUCKS………………….
If they would’ve played like a top 5 defense we would have won more games. This yr. the defense Fu*&ed-Up………..

If the D take it to the Top 5 level, We’ll win the rest of the games.

what was that sunday, looks like coach ray didn’t leave!!! c”mon 9res org open up the game for troy. this is the worst coaching i have seen in san francisco, since the 70′s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can’t believe that Troy Smith will be our starter for MNF. I was liking him to stay in until last week against the Bucs. Defenses have figured him out. Alex whether people like it or not is our best option as long as he continues to play like he started to right before he got hurt during the Panthers game. Let Nate Davis get a crack if we lose tonight. Or let Alex finish the season. Troy provided a spark but I can see he has fizzled out in just 2 weeks. Even with a win tonight, he will not provide a better chance for us in Green Bay. What a dissimal year to be a NINER fan! But I’m gonna be here 4EVER!

LET’S WHIP THE CARDS LIKE WE DID LAST YEAR ON MNF! GO 9ERS!

MAN IT MUST S— NOT LIKING FOOTBALL WE HAVE HAD SOME GOOD GAME TO WATCH I AM A 9ER FAN AND YES I WOULD LOVE TO SEE THE PLAY OFF BUT WHY DO WE AS FAN EXPECT MORE,TO GET TO A SUPER BOWL FASTER.WHAT DID YOU SEE LAST YEAR THAT SAID SUPER BOWL 8-8 BACK TO BACK IS MUCH HARDER THEN YOU THINK IF WE CAN DO THAT AND THEN MAKE IT TO 10-6 THEN LETS TALK SUPER BOWL PLAY OFF AND ALL THAT!FOR NOW I JUST SHOW UP HAVE A BBQ AND I WIN EVERY WEEK IF THE TEAM WINS THEN WE BOTH HAD A GOOD DAY GO NINERS…………AS FOR THE FANS MAN WHAT A DOWNER!

  27. By B. Richard on Nov 29, 2010 | Reply

Finally someone notices how ineffective our defense has been. Some times opposing receivers look like they could call for fair catches. Everyone who watches closely has seen we are playing good teams this year. As good as last year may have been our competition is much better out of our division. I like what our offensive coordinator has been doing up to this last weekend, but realize he is not working with an established quarterback who knows the playbook like the back of hand. Though many 49ers fans think we been patient enough. I for one believe that as long as we stay with this formula, Troy Smith will prove to be an excellent quarterback. He already has proven he is not going to force the ball right into opposing defenses hands. So improve your defensive backfield and eventually your offense will come around.
