Sorry to see this Sacred Heart Cathedral product from SF cut from his home team. I hope he will be picked up by some other team — a good one.

Thank you for your time Jason Hill. But I like the 49ers didn’t see any good speed, route Hope you have more success in a different team but for right now I think we are stacked on receivers. Ginn and Williams are speedy threat, Michael and Josh are big receivers that can fight for any ball.

I wonder who they gon put in as a return man
By JohnGotti on Nov 16, 2010 | Reply
He was a good rturn man in my eyes. Its not a whole lot of good blocking going on on our special teams.

Activate Nate Davis and cut Carr.

Good bye Jerry Rice, ahem, Jason Hill.

umm, he didn’t return for us but nice try. Good luck Jason, hope you find a spot in an offense somewhere, your very talented, not sure why we didn’t play you more

Sorry Jason, but I sall this coming. Thank you for your blood, sweat, and tears you have given the 9ners. San Fran needs to pick up another impact receiver for our new great quarter back Troy Smith. Defenses will have no choice but to pick their poison when they play the 9ers.

too bad the 49ers NEVER used him properly. The 49ers are notorious for having talent right in front of their faces and letting it slip away. Josh Morgan still hasnt proved to me that he deserves his position. Ginn is a special teams threat, and thats it. Hill ran a 4.3 40 yard dash and you couldnt utilize that??Bad coaching and management. Shame on the 49ers. He’s gonna go somewhere to a GOOD system and ball out. I can guarantee it.

great job peterd, way to take a completely irrelevant topic and use it to bash the team

All we need to do is beat Tampa Bay this week thats all we need to focus on for now 49ers 27 Bucs 16

They definitely needed to open up a spot for another lineman with Staley not going on IRA. I’d like to see Williams get another shot at returning punts though, i’m sick of watching fair catch Ginn back there!
By terry on Nov 16, 2010 | Reply
here here cut CARR he’s way more irrelevant than any receiver.

Does anybody notice that Ahmad Brooks got a big contract in the offseason due to a great ending of last season, but is fat and unproductive this year? Dude looks 25lbs heavier than last year and can’t get off a block..

We could have used Jason on the Punt return or Kick off return. Because Ginn isn’t doing anything!!!!!!!!!!! Its funny how the 49ers bring in new recievers and return men and they go right into the rotation but the organization says all these great things about Jason Hills work ethic and yet he never sees the field unless its preseason or a blow out. What do u want him to do fly to get on the field.

Jason will be missed. In my opinion He’s even with Crabtree those should be our starting receivers. 49ers are cold blooded. Im starting not to like Singletary with his contradicting self. The 49ers did Jason wrong. Good Luck Hill you are a good kid and good reciever.

Man, we keep Ted Ginn and get rid of Hill? Ginn has speed but is so scared to take a hit he wont catch the ball. It is frustrating seeing guys go who have the heart and talent to play while the team is losing.

stick w/ troy good things are gonna happen, forget about alex , he has no guts, troy is the real qb. for the niners, i bet you next week we gonna win against tampa…

I think I would have cut Morgan before I cut Hill, but either way we were deep in WR’s. It had to be someone but since Morgan has been showing up a little more I don’t mind the decision. Someone had to go so why not Hill? *All Hail King Troy of Cali

Hey Romes, no bash intended. Don’t look for bad that isn’t there. I’d like him to go to a good team — period. I know we have a good team. I don’t want him to go to Buffalo, for example. It’s all right…
By Ttq on Nov 16, 2010 | Reply
Put westbrook in more, maybe he could do our returns. Seasons over. All that tallent and poor coaching.
By Don on Nov 16, 2010 | Reply
Sorry to see Jason Hill go , He was never allowed to show his full potential. We’ve always let players leave early and they flourish elsewhere eg..( Brandon Lloyd) I personally would have released Dominique Zeigler before letting Jason go , Because Jason has proved what he can do when he’s on the Field. And for those whom aren’t up on there players history Jason clocked a 4.3 40 , Josh Morgan 4.7 , Dominique Zeigler 4.6 , Crabtree ( who knows).. I say that to say this , Our WR’s with 4.4 or better speed ride the bench , Or don’t suit up for games. Why do we have Ted Ginn if we don’t use him??

Oh well. Good luck. Now let’s get rid of Alex Smith and Car. Bring up Nate Davis bench Anthony Davis because he’s costing us and get a Db veteran to help us in the mid field.

Thanks for putting your hard effort and work. When I seen Jason Hill play he had great speed and ability to catch the ball. Sorry for being waived. Hope you find a team that needs you. You will still be a 49er to me when your career ends. Thanks J.Hill!

You guys shouldn’t being saying crap about Ginn. He is a good KR and PR. We have Crabtree and Morgan who start. Ginn is doing good its just the kickers and punters on the team. They kick like crap out there on the field. So its not Ginns fault that he keeps fair catching it. What Coach Sing needs to do is put Westbrook. They keep putting in Gore to much. Im not saying Gore is doing a bad job. Gore is extremly awesome out there on the field. They should rest him up for the 2nd half and put in Westbrook in the 1st half. Westbrook still has the legs and feet to rush down the field. They need to get rid of Alex Smith and Carr. Bring in Davis as backup QB and sign a better free agent. Troy Smith is freakin awesome out there. He has thrown no picks and hasnt fumbled. He is one of my fav QBs. We are doin awesome. GO 49ers!!!!!!!!!!!

this is a mistake!!! carr and ginn is a better cut, and give nate a try what is wrong with sing???!!!

GOOD LUCK TO YOU JASON REALLY LIKED YOUR DEDICATION. (MAN I HOPE HE DOES’NT GET PICKUD UP BY ANY OF OUR NFC WEST RIVALS???)
By T-Money on Nov 17, 2010 | Reply
I don;t think cutting Alex Smith is a good idea right now. Obviously David Carr is not a viable option, and Nate Davis looked good in preseason, but that means nothing. He played against guys that probably aren’t in the league right now. I hope to God that I never see Alex Smith in a 9er jersey again after this year. But what the hell are they going to do if Troy Smith gets hurt? In the short term, they should keep him, at least he “knows” the offense. Really don’t see why anyone is making a big deal about Jason Hill. Sucks for hem, but they NEED to pick up some depth on the o-line.
By Justin on Nov 17, 2010 | Reply
I say alex needs let go he hasnt done anything since utah troy smith was god at OSU and will be a hall of fame qb in sanfran i bet my life on it
By Travis on Nov 17, 2010 | Reply
zeigler should have been cut before hill. Hill, you will get a call from another team. Be patient and trust in god. Why does Singeltary allow Davis to continue to start. He is good for a few penalties every single game it seems. Why can’t Singeltary coach the players to play sound football? A game without 10 turnovers. How cool would that be. I have confidence in Singeltary, I just don’t understand why he can’t coach the team to play error free for longer periods of time. 37-20. That is what the score would have been if the niners would execute properly more often. Either way, good things are on the horizon for the niners.

Just another in a long line of inept judgements of talent. Hill had speed, hands and heart. Fair catch or let it bounce Ginn has two of the three. And with no heart it doesnt matter what kind of routes you run. Can’t someone on that team teach a kid something? Good luck Jason.

umm, he didn’t return for us but nice try. Good luck Jason, hope you find a spot in an offense somewhere, your very talented, not sure why we didn’t play you more

Need to keep t.smith at qb. use walker alot more and definitely get Nate Davis as a back up. J. Hill is tight, should have been special teams. Good luck on your next team brahbrah!!

I ALSO WANT TO SEE WESTBROOK USED MORE. WE SHOULD BE USING ALL OUR BACKS MORE. GET WESTBROOK IN ON SOME SCREENS AND USE GORE AND DIXON IN A SPLIT BACK FORMATION. VERNON IS OPEN, GET HIM THE BALL. TAMPA IS GOING TO BE TOUGH, OUR SECONDARY NEEDS TO STEP UP!!! LET’S GO FELLAS, KEEP IT UP. THE LAST FEW WEEKS ACTUALLY FELT LIKE WATCHING A TEAM WITH SOME FIRE. I CAN TAKE LOSING AS LONG AS WE GET BEAT!
By Go Niners on Nov 17, 2010 | Reply
Too bad. Jason HIll had potential to be a decent wide receiver for the Niners. He just never took advantage of the opportunities he was presented. I won’t be surprised if he has better success with another team. Best wishes J. Hill !
