Gore Up for FedEx Ground Player of the Week

Posted by Taylor Price on October 19, 2010 – 10:53 AM

After rushing 25 times for 149 yards last week against the Oakland Raiders, Frank Gore finds himself in familiar territory.

The 49ers running back was just named as one of three finalists for the Week 6 FedEx Ground Player of the Week.

Gore won the honor last season after posting a 207-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Seahawks in Week 2. Back then, the Pro Bowl running back received plenty of support in the form of votes by the 49ers Faithful. And once again, he’ll need those same voters to help him win the honor this time around.

Click here to vote for Gore as FedEx’s Ground Player of Week 6.

Job well done as far as the BIG 3: Gore, Crabtree and VD. We got our first win and this is extremely contagious in the locker room. Lets do this 9ERS!!

Good job Frank Gore. But I think we should still use both Frank, and Dixon on our running games . I think it will be better formula for our wins. Maybe somebody needs to look at how Giants use both of their running backs, and how it helps them. It will give both some time to play, and catch their breath.

Yeah, good for Frankie…he is a stud once he gets going. Should give Dixon some opportunities in short yardage. Two road games coming up, see if Alex comes back a bench warmer.

It should not be Gore’s decision. He is a great back but should run a little less and Dixon more.

Gore did a great job. the 9ers should pick up brennan for the practice squad and let him compete for a job. the offense has all the tools but one …

Good Job Frank I voted twice for him. I wanna see a little more of Westbrook and Dixon. I think we need to use them a little more. The times that I’ve seen Dixon get the ball he either is moving the chains or getting us a TD.

Great job frank, way to have vison, you waited on the holes to open, and i love the way you bounced back from last week. Keep your shoulders down and feet moving the big plays will come. With you running hard like that the pssing game will open up.Also i was very pleased with the last drive coach put the ice man up front and you followed perfect. My faith in your game goes deeper than words, feels good to have a Frank Gore on my Niner squad.

i am long time 49ers.Weakest ling in 49ers organization is quarterback. For same reason this problem do not go away.probably searching for next Montana,it not helping. And if 49ers will be find him,it will be not Alex Smith.Football have basic principle almost same like military strategy has,or they are very similar. Also military in present time do not win same way like they use to. my mind come Abraham Lincoln.Lincoln win civil war and at movement war look like that is impossible to win.Lincoln was not afraid to change generals. He Abraham L. changed them sometime just couple hours and fined people with who can win.
South never questioned there leaders and strategy. And not understand what is problem what 49ers having with Alex Smith.Just find right player, look everywhere for,try them for couple hours and days in training,do not be tiered from.Abraham Lincoln was not,and that game was about something..
