49ers Re-Sign CB Brock to Practice Squad

Posted by Taylor Price on October 14, 2010 – 9:33 AM

The San Francisco 49ers announced Thursday morning that they have signed CB Tramaine Brock to the team’s practice squad. In order to make room for him on the unit the 49ers released FB Jehuu Caulcrick.

This is prime example of the inconsistency of the coaching staff and we can understand why we are 0-5. They just resigned Caulcrick to the practice squad yesterday. How can I file a complaint with the York’s? I’m not happy with being a losing team but, I feel they(the organization)are.

Whos running this team (into the ground)? Is there something in this team performance that I’m not seeing this year? They were supposed to be on the way up from the rebuilding phase. We are heading in the wrong direction folks! The defense is even laying down on us now. Thats never a good sign. Let play a complete game one time “D”. Oh, Nate Clements, when you intercept a potential game winning ball…. its O.K. to slide when you are well in field goal range. Alex Smith, when you are getting chased down by a blitzing linebacker, its O.K. to take a sack for a 10 yard loss over a pathetic fumble turned touchdown. If it weren’t for these costly turnovers, we should be 3-2. Why are we one of the few teams that doesn’t use more than one back? Why not mix it up and put in our rookie back to gain some yards and some experience. I will ALWAYS be a niner fan, but this team…. HAS NO HEART!

I am agreeing with Nicole. How do you bring someone on the practice squad and then let him go pretty much immediately? These are human beings that we are dealing with. They have families to support financially and emotionally. What a roller coaster the niner management is doing to these young men. I am not picking up what the niners are trying to throw down. Lets concentrate on winning some games instead of who is going to be on the practice squad from week to week. I am a die hard niner fan, but I am not seeing where this is going. At least in the direction that all the fans want to see them go. Lets beat the damn raiders at least. GO NINERS

I dont think the DEF is laying down on us! However, the defense does get tired, when they are out on the field 90% of the game. And you also have to take into consideration that the defense alone can not carry the whole team to a victory, they can only keep games close, but they need rest as well. They start to perform bad because they are tired, and because they see no productivity from the offense. It’s frustrating, i know..as for alex smith..i dont even know what to say anymore. its been 6 years bro. If you say you play better with anger than do it, but F**king do it all 4 qtrs. picture the team trailing from the get-go and dont let up!! Quit talking about your ok with taking the blame, stop talking and start showing, make some effing changes man..

    Two words: Nate Davis
He should of been the starter. Next year he should be the starter if Alex smith is gone or trade some picks to get Kolb from phily or Chad P from the Dolphins. Just where we would have been if we would have pick up Michael Vick when he was avalible. Why did we picked up Brian Westbrook if we not using him.
Im a True 49ers fan all da way from the Washington DC area and its really hurting me that fact that we are 0-5. The Defence arent even close from how they were playing last year whats going on here I had to put my car flags down cause of this but I have faith I know ima put them back this year when this team turns around.

How much longer, How much longer do we have to deal with Singletary saying that they will continue to work hard, we will be looking at film? Come on Singletary you are way over your head, be a man and admit it. Just by leaving Alex still at QB Tells me that you are not seen the big picture. Alex has ben with the team 5 years too long, enough is enough.

Instead of lettin go of brock we should let smith go. He maybe a smart guy but he dont make smart decisions with da ball. I cant remember how times this year Vernon ran free an no throws to him or even ted ginn running deep routs an instead of gettin da ball to him alex throws a short rout dat dont pick up nothing. Stretch da field!!!! Get Frank an Brain on da field together. Get your playmakers on the field an spread da field an move up field. Is dat too much to ask?

I dont understand why isnt Brock on the full time squad instead of the practice the way front office to the players they cant seem to work as an organization they players are playing like a bunch of girls an I really beleave Alex that cant throw to his own teammates Smith needs to be benched york an singletary need to really do somthing this really old Alex has more interceptions than touchdowns make a trade for pike or another quaterback that can throw a football.

  13. By DC on Oct 14, 2010 | Reply

Where is Carr, Dixion, Westbrook? Instead we are worrying about the practice squad! Do you think that we should be trying to put the best men on the field to win some games? Pre-season didn’t go to bad was it because Alex Smith did his great stuff or was it Carr and Davis. Looks like to me that the best men compete and they get dogged. Collect your pay checks boys for at the end of the day your are still standing not beat up. I know that you guys that made the pre-season victorious would rather play but you have a head coach that is taken some money it appears on the side to keep Alex Smith in the game.

    Go Raiders

we need a quarterback that is gonna play good in the beginning not wait till the end of the game to try to get the win. i say bench smith and try carr, if he don’t do the job cut him and try Nate Davis

The only thing keeping Singletary employed as the HC is his name & history as a player.

What if the niners somehow pull a bunny out of the hat and win 9 straight games with smith and singletary?

What will all of us fans be saying then???

PROVE ME WRONG ALEX. PROVE US ALL WRONG, ALEX.

Remember… u put on that niner jersey and u better have the pride of a champion.

MY NINERS NEED TO START ACTING LIKE MY LAKERS.
Go 49ers!!! CFR representin from LA, the city of champions.

I think all we need is corners Nate is up and down the defense is beat up they have made some key stops but the blank gets old after awhile turnovers at the absolute worse time offense looks better special teams better too I’m disappointed with record but like to see Dixon pound Westbrook on some screens and have a fresher Gore in the forth!!!!!!!!

  21. By kenneth Smith on Oct 14, 2010 | Reply

Also is it true that Philly offered us McNabb first?

  22. By 805faithful on Oct 14, 2010 | Reply

I here you guys. I too agree with Nicole. And I hate A.Smith but since the players believe in him and the coach thinks his the best Qb we got, as fans we’re just going to have to believe that maybe and I mean just maybe A.Smith can turn it around like Vernon Davis did last season when Singletary told him what’s up. I guess we’ll findout on Sunday.

Who is the #2 in the NFL in TOTAL YARDS FROM SCRIMMAGE behind Arian Foster????

That’s right faithful… its FRANK GORE.

So stop blaming him for those two fumbles vs philly because as far as I’m concerned, GORE is doing his job with a mediocre offensive line and an underachieving QB. Period.

  24. By ChickenFriedRice on Oct 15, 2010 | Reply

    Coach Singletary,

I have just one request. Please allow Alex to call his own plays and just let him play football. Loosen the reigns a bit and give him the freedom he needs so he can utilize his strengths to the fullest.

That’s all I ask so that hopefully we can run off 11 straight wins.

    Thank you.

Hey I have a question why do we have a team with the highest average salary in the league. I hope they try to pick up merriman. Pick him up it will make the decision to re-sign Lawson a lot easier. But dont do anything crazy like the clements deal or justin smith deal. dont get me wrong each one is a solid player but with past production sign him to a short deal that pays decent with a lot of incentives and make him earn his money.

  31. By dontknow on Oct 15, 2010 | Reply

MANNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!! This is realllllly bad. unbeleivable. I am starting to really really have some serious doubt about the future of this team. I don’t think the coach knows where he wants to go or what to do. This is getting bad for the worse. I agree with Nicole especially about these players having families to support. If the 49ers loose this one……..man I don’t wanna say.

finaly people who see the facts and not the fiction.alex and singultary.needs to go they are a disappointment to the team and rite now they are like a bull dozer dragging the rest of the niners into the dirt with them the situation is unexceptible.

Cant wait for sunday. Or better yet monday. Sunday will be a solid win and I said 6 wins in a row. Alex will play well. And after we win six in a row all of you 49er bashers will be back on the wagon along with alll of the so called experts saying “well they got it figured out and this is what everyone thought they would be”. And who ever said that davis was a bust before sing sent him to the showers is right. And alex will be next mark my words. Sing is a good coach but he doesnt know the x and o’s of the game great. But he recognizes that and I think he is making progress with that. I mean every since johnson took over as oc it looks like we are playing more towards our players strengths instead of having our players try and fit a philosophy. Spread , Spread , Spread. No body can cover Davis down the seam, crabtree came from spread, alex came from spread, and gore catches the ball well, now I would like to see ziegler get some more time and westbrook, but keep spreading it out because our o-line is not good enough to block 8-9 guys in the box and play smashmouth football. 6 in a row!!!!!!!!!

  34. By ninertilldeath on Oct 16, 2010 | Reply

please please alex win at least one. play football from the start of the game and dont wait till the end. i am so tired of loosing. throw to ginn he is open way down field if you can even throw that far. because from the looks of it u under throw every one. wtf. well i guess i learn somthing new every week i always thought you wanted them to run to the football down field not turn around and try to avoid an interception.

  35. By 9erforever on Oct 17, 2010 | Reply

Niners will not win consistently until the coach or coaches change, or management change the coach or coaches. The head coach has a lot of good coaching qualities, but he and his coordinators are getting out-coached every game day. The O and D Coordinators are taking his lead of no-risk/no-reward philosophy.

As for the Alex Smith bashers, check the film and see how he performed in the first drive of the first quarter of the Philly loss. Check his performance in the middle of the game when the Philly coaches adjusted their game plan and ours did not. Check again his performance when down by 17 points, our O coordinator changed to an aggressive offense…14 points!

Just like any sucessful businessman or All-Pro Player you need mentoring from someone who’s done it before, where’s that comming from for Alex? Let’s see Norv Turner had him going well and that was with ZERO weapons and no O-Line.

Enough said on the Alex issue. He’ll be fine when he leaves here unless they get a really good coach with an excellent system.

    Go Niners-Do it for yourselves.

i find it ironic that Singeltary has axed every coach that would become any sort of threat to him that could step in and take his job—-CONTROL FREAK that doesn’t understand COACHING. Surround yourself with better people.
