Live Game Blog: 49ers vs. Broncos

Posted by Scott Kegley on October 31, 2010 – 7:49 AM

It’s been a long road trip, but gameday has finally arrived at Wembley Stadium.   It’s been a busy week, but more or less business as usual with practices on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before moving into a hotel in London on Friday.  On Saturday, the team went through a walk through at Wembley before attending a rally at Trafalgar square.  The biggest news of the week came just before Wednesday’s practice when Singletary announced that Troy Smith would start at quarterback.

If you have any questions for Ted Robinson in this week’s “Teddy Football,” please add them in the comments section as I’ll talk to him roughly an hour before kickoff.

Here’s a photo gallery from today’s game.

Wembley Now More of a ‘Home Away From Home’

Posted by Scott Kegley on October 31, 2010 – 7:49 AM

Previous NFL international games held at Wembley have turned muddy do to wet weather, but the hope is that won’t be the case today when the 49ers play the Denver Broncos.

Roger Maslin, the Managing Director at Wembley National Stadium, oversaw the installation of a new playing surface since last year’s game.  The field is now roughly three-percent synthetic and should hold up very well with all the various sports that are played here.

“We want Wembley to be a home away from home for the teams when they play here,” said Maslin.

Below is the transcript of my interview with Maslin just a few hours before kickoff.
