ok people… i have a question.. maybe some one can answer it.. y oh y do we need B .westb … we have gore micheal robinson and from what i saw of dixon in his first game … he was awesome… and instead of going after … vick or d. mcnab .. we get another running back.. we need a qb.. and in the draft their were a lot of good qb’s that we could of got but in stead we get carr.. carr is crap.. he always has been … and looked even worse in this first preseason game.. he got sacked and fell down every time some one came around… please oh please get rid of him as fast as we can… i mean if smith gets hurt ( again ) then am i suppose to be happy about who his replacement is… i really like nate davis.. i have since the first time i seen him… he needs more reps and a lot more of a role with the team.. i bet after all the preseason is over nate will have a way better stat than carr… but yet they keep carr.. y.. i dont give a crap if its cuz nate is young .. i mean come on if he plays better i dont care how old he is.. flat out … the boy can play and has proved that to every one who watches him play

We don’t need a QB, Alex is finally getting a chance to run the same offensive scheme two years in a row which will help his development tremendously. David Carr is not a bad QB, he played pretty decently in Houston but he was roughed up because his line could not protect him at all. Nate Davis is pretty raw but he seems to understand the playbook a little better this year and he doesnt make many bad decisions when targeting a reciever. Stats in the preaseason are important but remember when Nate Davis is on the field, he isn’t facing the starting defense….he is facing a group of guys fighting for a roster spot just like Nate. Westbrook will definitely be a factor for the 49ers. His speed and agility out of the backfield give the 49ers different ways to utilize his talents. He is a great back when it comes to screen plays, he will be able to reduce Frank Gore’s punishment he takes throughout the season, he also can be used in trick play/wildcat formations if the 49ers wanted to explore those options.

Seriously? Robinson is probably as good gone with the emergence of Dixon. Westbrook gives us an experienced Pro Bowler that understands blitz pickup…something Dixon will need time with. Drafting a rookie QB is the stupidest thing I’ve heard in a while for fans who want to win NOW. It’s one preseason game and it’s the first one….are you kidding me? Now if Alex looks bad all pre-season with his full arsenal out there and struggles week 1….then we have an issue…..it’s still early, relax. Philly’s not getting rid of Vick and quite frankly …he’s not the answer. Alex will prove people wrong this year. Why can’t 49er fans just enjoy the team without having a daily debate about our QB…it’s retarded.

we got brian westbrook because hes a veteran influence on the field and locker room. glenn coffee was a good prospect but retired for whatever retarded reason. So why wouldnt you pick up a solid player like westbrook? anthony dixon looked great, he needs to lose 20lbs but other than that, great. Michael robinson will? are you kidding me? you like him? he fumbles 90% of the time when he gets the ball. First play of the colts game, turnover. special teams past 3 years…turnovers. with the o-line improved gore is gonna hit 1300yds and 10+ TDs and westbrook will get in their on the screen game and dual back sets, hes a smart blocker

  7. By Chris on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

Ok “WILL” ill tell you the reason behind why we signed Brian Westbrook. Remember last season when Gore got hurt and Coffee came in and our running game was none existent? Thats why we got Westbrook. He is a proven 10 year vet who holds just about every Eagle RB record. He is now our best receiving threat out of the back field and if Gore goes down we have a pro bowler waiting to step in that’s smart football.

As for Micheal Robinson he’s a utility player not a every down RB. Yes Anthony Dixon looked great but he is still a rookie and needs time to develop. So when you look at our roster we have 3 RB’s on the team now that Westbrook is here.

As for David Carr yes it was a hard pick up for me to swallow but to call him crap is a little harsh. He was a #1 pick for a reason and went to a then terrible new expansion team with no talent on it yeah anyone would be crap in that situation. Remember Payton Manning’s first season no talent Colts team went 2&14 or 4&12 something like that but at least had the same offensive cordinator from then on which Alex Smith has never had. I do agree this is Alex’s one big chance. He has the most talented offensive players around him he has ever had so if he blows it this year it’s time to move on. Plaese everyone stop with the Vick comments the guy is a criminal and a garbage QB the guy has no accuracy. McNab I could see if he was’nt in the twilight of his career. He’ll be out of the league in 5 years and probably out of the starting line up in 3. Not the QB to start building a team around.

Finally Nate Davis is the third string QB for a reason the coaches have him there for a reason. Yes he looks great in pre season against all the forth quarter I hope I can make the teamers. Stop thinking he’s the savior cause im sure the coaches would have seen that by now. I would love to see him up against any first team defence. I would bet big money he would look really bad and im not knocking the guy he just obviously can’t get it done and the coaches see that as well.

this is the niners season, if this isn’t it then i dont know when.

  9. By BigJenks on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

Westbrook was a good pickup….if he can stay healthy. Gore will eat up most of the carries. Dixon will be a good 3rd string back, in case of injury. And Robinson is garbage. He’s got no moves and lacks speed. The only reason he’s on the team is because of his special teams play.

  10. By 9er Guru on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

I totally agree 100% about the QB situation. Nate Davis has proven himself last preseason and so far this season. What we really need is some premier CB because we get passed on all the time.

I couldn’t agrees more. I like Nate Davis. I used to tell my fellow niner fans, that I thought Alex Smith was a bit like David carr (when he was with Houston). Ever since Alex got hurt, he has never played the same. Now we have them both. Whos running this team anyways??? I do realize that Alex has had a different off. coordinator each of his prior seasons, but if he blows it this year, I won’t be able to stand behind the guy any longer, and hopefully I’m not the only one feeling that way. WAKE UP FRONT OFFICE! Our “D” can’t carry the whole team every game! Patrick Willis isn’t gonna be young and speedy forever. Time to get the QB that will help take us to that next level. Alex, put up or…..

Are U kidding Yourself??!! Wake Up and See the Stats!!! Has Westbrook NOT been an NFL Leading rusher the past 8 or so Years (exCluding last season because of injury)??.. I mean- Dont get ME wrong.. Frank “Dont Call me Al” Gore Is a MONSTER for Us! 1st 1,000 yard rusher in 4 ConseCutive seasons in Niner History!!!! Not InCluding the Dangerous weapon he Is out of the baCcfield.. but OPEN YOUR EYES AND SEE THA STATS… Gore + Westbrook have the MOST yards from sCrimmage (BEFORE THEY’VE EVEN PLAYED TOGETHER!!) and Robinson????? ARe U SERIOUS?? He’s a “Situational” player- NOT a 2nd or 3rd string running baCc when we NOW have a Dominant 2nd string in Westbrook..and a NnNNiiiiiCcce Rookie in Dixon.. WAKE UP!!

Honestly, BW+FG Is great. Brandon Jones is injury prone and NOT GOOD AT ALL! We need to open room for Kyle Williams and DZ, So the injuries are pilling up, alot are going to IR and I hope they recover soon but if Kyle Williams is hurt we need to get LEEEEEROOOOOYYYYYYYYY Vann back. Practice is Practice, unfortunatly you cant show your situational game speed in practice, so judging Vann by practice was tough because he wasn’t in a game situation. In my opinion, keep Smith in for 1 more year. But we need to address our secondary! We are riddled with vets, we need young fresh stars back there. I was hoping instead of Adams in the 7th, we should have gotten Syd’Quan Thompson. He is very impressive. But thats just my two-cents…

  15. By mendo09 on Aug 18, 2010 | Reply

I was hoping Jones would get cut, i really don’t see him as a threat….but I do think that Dominique Zeigler, (or however you spell his last name) has a chance to compete for the fourth, even third spot at WR. I don’t think Ginn is gonna be that great of a receiver for the third spot, I’d pick Hill or Zeigler over Ginn. In my opinion, Ginn is only a return specialist.

I agree with both but, will is totally dont know about ALEX , Nate IS A solid ballplayer and deffinetly my choice to spell alex in the near future ..and,thats all i agreed with will cause westbrook and gore galore is a lovely duo like variious teams duo backs are sucessful and if so theres really NO WAY FOR ALEX NOT TO PLAY AT AN ELITE LEVEL ..give the kid a breack hes only 26 ..i am excited for the 49ers 2010 season and the great journey we will go thru this year with our team..

As a Die Hard niners fan living in Houston Tx (Transplant from Hayward Ca) I cant wait what Alex Smith will bring to the table this year under Jimmy’s offense. Dont get me wrong I’m no crazy about David Car but he does have more NFL exp than Nate Davis. The time will come for Nate to take over in the future. And I love the Westbrook/Gore backfield they compliment each other perfectly. Just wait till the second half of the season both of them will be a lot fresher and ready to take over in the playoffs. STAND UP NINERS FAITHFUL!!!!!

When the season is over and we r 1 and done then we will realize we need a qb cuz A.Smith and D.Carr SUCK! Start NATE DAVIS he hasnt missed a wide open reciever in the middle of the field by his self like Smith did in the first preseason game. (Over the middle to V.Davis) The ball was thrown behind him. Alex Smith is to inconsistant!

Honestly with what I saw of Alex Smith at the end of last year, right now I’m proud to call him a Niner. I agree, we need 2 1st down running backs to spread things out, and to get crabtree open more.

okay alex smith is crap i have ZERO FAITH in him as a leader it doesn’t look like u guys watched the game last weekend he under throw n over throw everyone..it was garbage…he wont be starting long…when we drafted him arron rogers was in the draft n we took alex smith what a waste of a pick. david carr…come on stupid pick up we could of gotten Anderson or vick but no one wants a guy who did dog fighting..he did his time changed man..its not about what he did in his personal life its about can he play n can he lead a team n the question is yes. Nate davis needs to play waaaayyyyy more i have a feeling he will be in this year cause the first two can’t do it.

QUESTION GUYS WHAT HAS BEEN WESTBROOKS PRODUCTIVITY IN THE LAST TWO SEASONS. AND THE ANSWER IS!!! ON THE SIDELINES. HE HASNT BEEN HEALTHY IN TWO FULL SEASON WITH OUT BEING SERIOUSLY INJURED. WHY DO YOU THINK IT TOOK HIM A LONG TIME FOR SOMEONE TO PIC HIM UP. STOP LIVING IN THE PAST AND ACCEPT THE FUTURE HE IS A GOOD MODIVATOR FOR OUR YOUNG RUNNING BACKS BUT NO BIG THREAT TO ANY DEFENSE ANY MORE. AND AS FOR ALEX SMITH,YOU ALL WANT TO HAVE FAITH IN SOMEONE WHO HAD ONE GREAT SEASON IN FIVE YEARS OF PLAYING AND THAT WAS PRIMARILY OFF OF THE DEFENSE SAVING HIS BUTT. YO WILL, I AM DOWN WITH YOU MAN. ALEX HAS GOT TO GO. BUT PEOPLE WONT REALIZE THIS UNTIL AFTER THIS SEASON. WE ARE WAISTING OUR YOUNG TALENTED PLAYER ON A GUY THAT CAN NOT PRODUCE UNDER PRESSURE. I THINK WE SHOULD GIVE NATE A CHANCE AND INTEAD OF SPENDING UNNECESSARY MONEY ON WESTBROOK, GET A GET A DEFENSIVE TACKLE TO HELP JUSTIN SMITH OUT ON THE LINE AND PUT PRESSURE ON THE QUARTER BACKS THAT IS ALL WE NEED. DAVIS CAN GROW. HELL, IF WE CAN GIVE ALEX 5 YEARS TO COME AROUND WE CERTAINLY CAN GIVE DAVIS AT LEAST 2 BECAUSE I THINK THAT IS ALL HE NEEDS.

Man Westbrook was the primary running back in Philly before Philly went out and got other weapons. Defenses Keyed on him and McNAbb. He wont here and this is the perfect back to compilment Gore. Dixon is unproven and I wouldnt put all my stock in a preseaon game against backups for Dixon. If Wesbrook can stay healthy he will be a big weapon out the back field and give are workhorse Gore a breather. He wont be used on the same capacity here as he was in Philly. Alex Smith my opinion we should have gotten Jimmy Caulsen but we give Alex a try in year 2 under the same OC AND IF HE STINKS UP THE FIELD I AGREE WITH BOOGIE GIVE THE BALL TO NATE. I GOT A VERY FAINT FELLING THAT SMITH WILL BE GOOD THIS YEAR.

don’t matter what we do this year….Favre is gonna destroy us in the playoffs (AGAIN) on his way to the Super Bowl. Yes, it will happen.

  25. By JW on Aug 19, 2010 | Reply

My only beef with Alex is: His whole NFL career he has struggled with his mechanics passes to high and off the mark. (Leading to incomplete & intercepted passes) then he stepped in last year determined to succeed throwing 18 TD’s in 10 games. I was proud of him. Then we played the Colts last week. Same thing happened. So if he doesn’t prove me wrong in the next two or three games then there has to be a change. Again. As to Westbrook, I like him I think he’ll be a great asset to us (as long as he doesn’t get a concussion again he’ll be fine) so let the man prove he can still play. Nate Davis is awesome defiantly 49ers Future QB materiel, David Carr would be a good back up for him as long as he doesn’t try to teach him how to scramble. Lovin the Defense this year great job coaches. Go 49ers!

This team will be well worthy of the Playoffs…..and doesn’t that sound good to those of us who were around in the Montana, Rice, Young and Craig days? I honestly feel this is a “return to glory” team that has the Coach “Sing” signature! I am excited as heck…..and Alex will be the rock behind a very consistent “O”…….and the “D” will be reminiscent of the old Raven defense. Special teams will also be a top notch unit by adding Ginn and Williams!

I hope with the pickup of Dixon, we finally get rid of Robinson! Dont get me wrong i am a Penn State fan im from PA but he does not produce in the NFL. Dixon has shown me more in one pre season game than I have seen in 5 years from Robinson. I would say keep him for special teams but there are only so many roster spots, and thats alot of rbs. This isnt fantasy football. He has gone under the radar I guess because of his personality, or perhaps because of the horrible qbs we have. Gore, Westbrook, Dixon. I hope Davis can play because I know Smith and Carr cant.

  30. By BAM THE 9ERS MAN on Aug 19, 2010 | Reply

glad they got rid of them, i dont think they would have helped the offense at all, they would slow down progress, what im really worried abot is the QB position. though alex gets to play the same system for the frst time consectutively, im not sure he has the toughness or the skill to be sucessful himself or help the team be sucessful, ima diehard so im rooting anyway, but the fact that he has been injured every single year since being drafted also is a big concern for all us 9ers faithfuls, but nevertheless this season looks very promising. the 49ers can pull out a 10 or 11 win season, they have been predicted to win 12, i dont care how many they win as long as they try to make a run for the superbowl. the fans are long overdue, the franchise is long overdue, and the team has worked hard with the coaching staff and each other to have a good season.GO 49ERS!!!

I’m surprised that we didn’t go after another valuable WR, i’m happy with CRabtree,Ginn, Morgan…….they still have some decent wr’s in the Free agency. Overall i hope we can atleast get 10 wins this yr. And as for as getting WESTBROOK he’s still can help out the 49ers…my only concerns are…his CONCUSIONS AND WE ALL KNOW HE’S INJURY PRONE. BUT.
At the end of the day WESTBROOK still has something in his tank, i hope the NINERS utilize his talents to his full protentials.

    YAHUWSHUA stay blessed everyone…..goooooo niners

Most of the stuff I’ve read is down right rediculous!!!

Regarding Alex Smith: there is a reason you don’t start rookie QB’s. The transition from college to the NFL is night and day. It is a league FULL of all-Americans. This is why you can’t run the option or the spread as your offensive focus. To be a successful QB in the NFL you need to be to talented, IN ADDITION to the right tools around you: 1) good offensive line 2) competent and consistent coaching and coordinating 3) talented WR’s 4) talented RB(s). So far in Smith’s career he has had only one of those 4 (Gore). So people need to stop and think about what it takes to orchestrate an offense. This is Smith’s FIRST season with all of these CRITICAL elements. Thus, if he does not produce by the end of next season, he simply does not have it. Remember too: the OL pair we drafted are STILL ROOKIES. They TOO have a learning curve. But, Smith should have his best season to date this year.

Regarding David Carr: he a seasoned veteran, and that is all. He is psychologically damaged from all the sacks he took in Houston; and, you can see this when he takes snaps. He has happy feet and the jitters. The Niners should not hold onto him for more than this year though.

Regarding Nate Davis: trust me, there is no one higher on Nate Davis than I. He looks incredibly promising. He has however only faced 2nd-4th stringers in experimental games. However, he seems to have a solid pocket presence and overall awareness. In addition, he is physically gifted with mobility and a strong arm. I like the patience of the coaches to groom him slowly and thoroughly. He will be 2nd string by the end of the year, if not next year. Patience is a virtue, ESPECIALLY with NFL QB’s.

Regarding Michael Vick: I simply do not understand the love affair with Vick. He was not an elite QB BEFORE he was imprisoned!!! He is dangerous for defenses sure; but, he is really only a viable NFL QB when playing Madden. His accuracy is poor and his pocket presence is frustrating. Plus, he spent nearly 2 years out of the league. He will never return to his original form. He is a nice utility player, especially when running the Wildcat. In fact, he is the prototypical QB for the Wildcat. Unfortunately, the Wildcat, without a strong vertical game will only get you 10 wins at MOST. Just ask Petyon Manning when he only needed the ball for 15 of of 60 minutes to beat the Dolphins. The Niners will never pick up Vick, nor do they need to. Maybe he’d fit with a team that has no weapons and could use a scrambling QB like the Browns or Bills.

Regarding Brian Westbrook: he is a solid acquisition, considering Coffee retired so unexpectedly. Westbrook will not be the focus, so he will constantly have mismatches, which will also greatly diminish his chance for injuries. He is dangerous with dump off passes and is adept pass blocker. Plus, Gore needs someone solid as a backup. Dixon is promising, but a little slow and overweight to replace Gore. Dixon looks to be a great situational rusher. Furthermore, Michael Robinson needs to stay on special teams because there is nothing that special about him. He is not fast. He is not big. He is not elusive. He has been known to fumble. He is not great out of the flat. Westbrook will surely give defenses fits when he had Gore are both in the game. Like Ginn’s speed as a WR, it is simply something you MUST account for on defense. Westbrook and Ginn may not necessarily be dominant forces, but they are tremendous distractions.

Regarding the Niners 2010 draft: I have been waiting for this draft for 8 years. DRAFT OFFENSIVE LINEMEN. DRAFT OFFENSIVE LINEMEN. DRAFT OFFENSIVE LINEMEN. This is the cornerstone to ALL great teams. If you can’t pass or run block, forget about it. No line means: no scoring, unhealthy HB’s and QB’s, and a terribly OVERWORKED defense. FINALLY the management figured it out. I think the young Jed York taking the reigns is what is helping us turn the corner. York is young, energetic, has nothing else to do, and is a passionate 49er fan since his youth. York is the one that made Singletary the coach, and that is where this all started. The Niners are weak in the secondary though. Clements has been a bust in my opinion. He has not really impressed, especially for the money we are paying him. The only game we were not in at all last season was against Atlanta. This was because of repeated missed tackles and defensive assignments on behalf of Clements. He was actually benched for a period of time because of that performance. Spencer has really emerged as something solid. Michael Lewis is aging and is simply not fast enough to play center field. Goldson is quickly emerging as an effective insurance policy that has now become quick to cover ground on deep throws. I still need more anticipation to create turnovers from Goldson though. Taylor Mays is sort of enigma at this point. I didn’t like the separation he gave on many throws against the Colts. He is a physical specimen though. Perhaps used as another LB for the time being. Niners’ secondary is the only weakness on the defense. So, next year, they need an elite corner in the first round. Someone who is not only fast, but physical.

Regarding this season’s outlook: If the Niners don’t win the division this season will surely be a failure. They almost swept the division when Arizona HAD Kurt Warner. No more excuses. Their offense should be much more steady and reliable in the red zone. No more drives that sputter out and lead to inopportune punts! Jimmy Raye’s play calling got progressively better towards the end of the season. Sometimes I wanted to pull my hair out with his calls. He single-handedly cost the Niners at least 2 wins last year with his vanilla offense. How many times did the run it up the gut when there were 8 guys in the box!!! Come on now. He needs to play Madden more, because it would help out a lot with situational calls. When the Niners are in the red zone, ON EVERY TRIP THERE, they need to call a play action bootleg to the right, looking for Vernon Davis or Gore. Favre made a career off this play. Every red zone trip AT LEAST ONCE.

The Niners will be a solid team this year. With a little luck they could win 10-11 games. They have one of the easiest schedules and have a well situated bye. Their D will be ginormous like it has been. Smith will play to expectations. The Niners will not put up 500+ yards a game, but they should use clock management to their advantage. Crabtree will be a beast this year; and, with as a distraction, Josh Morgan will be a surprising force. Gore will do what Gore does best…be inconveniently true. Vernon will continue his haunting of LB’s across the league. Plus, the Niners will have a return game this year!!! Hallelujah!!! The one thing they were absolutely non-existant at. A balanced team that is young and discipled thanks to the coach that goes out and hits people in the mouth!!!

i went to the indy game. robinson was horrible. he fumbled on the first play and couldnt pick up blitzes or tried to make the catch. I’m happy about westbrook and i love DIXON already. i wish ppl would leave alex alone. i dont care about nate davis or drafting a QB. we have a good team. next yr we will have a great one!!

Robinson is the captain of the special teams and a leader in the club house. If you understand football, then you realize that this is important.

Westbrook got hurt because he was getting 200+ touches a year as the focal point of Philly’s offense;which, he won’t be expected to do this year. When Gore was out last year Coffee crapped around with a 2.2 yds. per carry average which is rediculously terrible.

Alex had a good season last year and needs to build on it if he wants to stick around. Let’s not forget that he looked bad in practice and preseason a year ago, but he seems to have adjusted to game speed. All QB’s are inaccurate sometimes, but with his increased confidence and feel for the game I think we can expect less than 15 picks and more than 20 TD’s. The big thing is if Crabtree can build on last year and become a threat that opens the field up for Vernon, cause he won’t slip by unnoticed this year.

If you just want to complain, go cheer for the cowgirls and piss off…

    As for Carr…

What the hell do you want in a backup QB? He has experience and is better than half the backups on other teams in the league. How about Indy? Painter didn’t look good at all…
Carr went 9/11 or something against the 2nd teamers. I’ll take that.

The Niners should try to trade their 2011 and 2012 first round picks for Revis and make him the highest paid corner in the league. Maybe we could even ship Clements back the other way and pick up a third and a fifth coming back from the Jets.

    Great dream…

Glad to see we let these guys go now better later. As for Westbrook, he will operate pretty good in our system especially when you add in Dixon and Robinson. We need depth at RB given Gore typically plays at 75%-85% strength not to mention having two solid backs is the new trend in NFL and has shown success. In regards to Smith, he will be alright. I know he currently does not match up to Joe or Steve however he still is learning. He’s only 26 but kind of getting up there. Our Defense is key. If they can play at top 3 level (we are counting on you Nate C because the pressure is on) then that will put less pressure on Offense. Overall, we will win 10-11 games – - – I just hope we win some playoff games and a strong def and tight running game are the enablers. GO NINERS!!!!

Steve: it appears that you and maybe two others have been paying attention at all , and actually KNOWS the facts AND reality of professional football, i.e., what you can or cannot do with certain personnel based on their skills, abilities AND experience. And you also seem very aware (unlike a number of others hereon) that JUST WISHING DOES NOT MAKE IT SO. In other words, you can WISH for Vick until your eyes change colors, but doing so is not only a total waste of time, it is a “pipe-dream” (and those do not come true). True, Nate will play – but only, repeat ONLY when ever those that are getting paid to do so decides that he will. Until then, all the ranting and wailing about what Alex Smith IS NOT accomplishes nothing, and actually changes EVEN less – and why folks don’t stop beating that dead horse amazes me. Anyhow Steve, thanks for the very in depth REALITY-CHECK of the ways things ACTUALLY are Niner land – and for offering the ONLY balanced and knowledgeable observations I have read hereon.

alex smith is getting way to much grief from folks for 1 shaky PRE-SEASON outing. lets just wait and see where he is around week 6 or 7 when it counts. as for nate davis it seems to me the coaching staff is doing the right thing in giving him some years to develop and work on his game its kinda like the old days where they could afford to do so. as far as carr is concerned he got a rough deal going to houston when he did who wouldnt have the dennis hopper esque can you hear the footsteps man? approach to playing qb when you get hit and sacked that much but with his experience at the pro level it should only help smith and davis in developing. any way heres to hoping for 10-6 record and playoffs

We pick up Wetbrook as a third down back as a pass threat… e also can be a change of pace guy. Robinson is a Special teams captain and dixon yea he looks solid but look at Coffee and Sheets neither did good for their rookie year Ill take a 10 year vet over a rookie anyday!

What about Jared Brown getting a shot at the 3rd string quarterback position, he looked pretty good at practice. They should put him in the game maybe in the 3rd quarter to see what he can do, then if alex or carr doesnt work out, we can ship one or other out and use nate davis at the no. 2 position and brown could be the 3rd string qb depending on his performance. Thanks steve for your observations, your right on the money, you saved me a lot of typing.
