It won’t be until Aug. 2, until the 49ers practice fields are covered with professional football players for the first day of traning camp. But as of July 12, the team’s practice fields are now filled with aspiring football players. For the next three days, those athletes are at 49ers headquarters in Santa Clara to learn football fundamentals and life skills as they take part in the 49ers 2010 Youth Football Camp.
At the moment, 49ers youth football coordinator Jared Muela and his team of coaches have the campers going through a slew of fundamental drills to kick-off the camp.
Boys and girls 7-14 were eligible to sign up for the non-contact camp designed to improve football fundamentals as well as teach important life skills such as respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and teamwork.
Here’s a look at photos from the morning portion of camp.
In the quarterback drills, campers learn proper footwork and throwing technique.
With weather starting to warm up, campers take a Gatorade break in between drills.
This camper shows off his three-point stance during defensive line drills.
