NinerCam: Pro Bowl Reaction

Posted by Scott Kegley on December 29, 2009 – 5:48 PM

It was a hectic afternoon at 4949 Centennial Blvd. as the Pro Bowl rosters were released. Head coach Mike Singletary called Vernon Davis (1st Pro Bowl) and Andy Lee (2nd Pro Bowl) to tell them the good news.

Watch Singletary’s call with Vernon Davis

Singletary didn’t have success reaching Patrick Willis right away as he was on his way to visit children at a Santa Clara hospital.  Willis eventually received the news and TV49 caught up with him to get his reaction.

The 49ers also had several alternates – first-alternate Frank Gore and second-alternates Justin Smith and Michael Robinson.

Wow, Im stunned Aubrayo Franklin was not named an alternate. I thought he should have made the team, but not even an alternate. Shawntae was a snub as well had a fantastic season. DRC=Overrated! Next season hopefully we can add Mike Crabtree to that list and many more. GO NINES!!!

Abrayo Franklin didnt make it because the nfl didnt put his name on the ballot until a week before the voting was up. He didnt have a chance.

Congrats to all the players that made it, starter or not its still an accomplishment. Thank you to the rest of the team also for the most exciting niners season in eight years. No offense to Andy Lee, but I hope next year we don’t hear so much about how good you are on punts – just kick offs.

Thats scandalous. Abrayo put it down for frisco, and he wasnt voted in to the pro bowl because he is’nt a household name? bs. Gore should’ve at least been a third stringer based on heart seeing as he was hurt a good portion of the year, not to mention, all those games when frisco got pass happy, and still managed to get a 1,000 yards for the 4th consecutive year. Feel me though?? HOPEFULLY NEXT YEAR WE’LL HAVE LIKE 11, OR 12 PRO BOWLERS REPPING FRISCO BECAUSE THAT HOW GOOD A SQAUD WE GOT. NEXT YEAR, LETS BE PHYSICAL WITH AN “A”.

Great to see VD make it to his first pro bowl, I hope he scores 2 TDs this weekend to beat Antonio Gates record. As far as Patric Willis, that was expected withouth a doubt. I wish Franklin would have made it, he really deserves it. Gore had a good season, if he had not missed the games with the ankle injury, he would have been on that list as well.
Lets add some more to this list next year. Goldson and Crabtree might make it next year. It would be great to see Alex Smith make it to the pro bowl next season, but he has to make some strides for that to happen.

Glad to see 3 Forty-Niners going to represent the NFC in this year’s Pro-Bowl. Personally there should of been four. Abrayo Franklin definitely deserved to go but was snubbed. Congrats to Patrick, Vernon, and Andy for not only making the Pro-Bowl but also making it as starters (1st team).
San Francisco is by far a better team than what thier record shows and it kills me to see Arizona winning the NFC West title for the second straight season. The west definitely belongs the Niners and it just a matter of time until they get back what is rightfully theirs. On a good note, I think the team is heading in the right direction especially with a young talented bunch of core players.

Go San Fran. I wish you all the best. I live in Bengal territor. But stay loyal to my Colors of the Red and Gold. We will make it back to Super Bowl. Pro Bowl is a warm up for next year.

Considering our record I think it was great that we had as many probowlers as we did. Next year it will be better. I can’t wait for the new season to start.

Great job guys. Congrats to Vernon Davis, Patrick Willis, and Andy Lee for making first team. This year was very inspiring for the fans and the team looks great. Looking forward to next years intensity on the field. Next season is the season we take the division championships.

What makes me laugh is, last year Jimmy Raye was the OC for the Jets. He couldn’t make it work even with a real veteran QB in Brett Farve. Now the jets let him go and get Marty’s Shotenhimers boy as OC and a rookie head coach and a ROOKIE QB, not only do they make the playoffs, they won their first playoff game together in Cincy. What do we do? Hire their dead beat OC to run our offense!
If we ever get a real OC with imagination, creativity and the ability to create in game maybe we can give our players a chance at a ring.
