On the Phone with Philly

Posted by Scott Kegley on December 16, 2009 – 10:48 AM

Eagles head coach Andy Reid and quarterback Donovan McNabb called in to the 49ers media room today for their game week conference calls.  Both Reid and McNabb described the 49ers as a “dangerous” football team and stressed the importance of Sunday’s matchup to both clubs.

McNabb also said that the 49ers middle linebacker tandem of Takeo Spikes and Patrick Willis has the makings of a Hall of Fame combination.  He also spoke glowingly of his former teammate Michael Lewis who in his opinion, is a natural leader.

Reid reflected on the team’s decision to draft DeSean Jackson in 2008.  The coach said he didn’t have any reservations about Jackson after being well-informed by California head coach Jeff Tedford.

Take a listen to the entire conference calls of Reid and McNabb and be sure to check back each week as we’ll post the audio of the opposing coach and one key player.

I was at Candlestick Mon. nite. Everyone around me was screaming their head off and standing most of the game. Can you imagine what these people are going to do in their own living rooms when we stop McNabb and Vick w/our defense? I am proud to be a San Franciscan and in it – a Niners fan! Go Niners! May the air sail Alex Smith’s footballs into arms of our winning receivers TO THE ENDZONE !

Our defense has got to watch out for DeSean Jackson (We should have drafted him instead of Kentwan Balmer). We need to put constant pressure on McNabb. Our offense has got to bring their A-Game. Otherwise we will have to wait for next year and that will really upset me.

We can say a lot about the eagles, But I say the niners words will be lord on the field of play. niners defense shows that they will stand up to the eagles high power offense. may the plays be with you niners! GO NINNERS GO!!!!!!!

There’s no question that Philly is one of the best team in the NFC. Like I said before, the Niners are a whole lot better team than their record shows. Eventhough the Eagles are heavily favored to win the game, San Francisco has the firepower on both sides of the ball to beat any team in the NFL. GO NINERS!!!

49ers have to win these last three games and hope that Dallas, NY Giants, Atlanta, and Arizona keep losing. I know 49ers can win out if they play hard enough like against Arizona.

LETS GO NINERS!!! AT LEAST LETS GIVE OURSELFS A CHANCE OF MAKING THE PLAYOFFS BY WINNING OUT.
