Posted by Taylor Price on November 24, 2009 – 4:56 PM

The 49ers players need your support to get to the 2010 Pro Bowl in South Florida.  Here’s a recap of what some of the 49ers top Pro Bowl candidates have done through the first eleven weeks of the season.  You can vote as many times as you like at nfl.com/probowl.

TE Vernon Davis - Davis is having a career-year, leading the team with 51 catches for 601 yards and 8 touchdowns. His 8 touchdown receptions rank 1st among tight ends and is tied for 2nd in the NFL among all pass catchers. He ranks 1st among NFC tight ends in yards and 3rd in receptions.

Michael Robinson is the best blocking upback in the league on special teams. When they became desperate for a returner, he stepped in and averaged 24 yards per kickoff return with no fumbles or mistakes. Unfortunately, he didn’t have Michael Robinson to block for him and rookie Glen Coffee proved he is no Michael Robinson as an upback.

Last season, Allan Rossum ran a kickoff for a TD vs. Arizona, due in great part to Robinson’s double block on the play. He threw the block that sprung him loose, then got up and took out the defender with the best shot at Rossum.

On the other side of the ball, Robinson is an excellent tackler who is often responsible for stopping the returner dead in his tracks.

It’s unfortunate that modern day so-called 49er fans know nothing about how to act like a winner and think it’s cool to attack players on their own team. The Red Zone forum has become the Idiot Zone. My vote is recorded for a player who gives 100% no matter where they play him and is very well deserved.

(Jo) Franklin is a beast. “All these other players fall back”? Vernon is one of the top tight ends in the league this year. And what about Willis? He is the best middle linebacker in the league. Gore is having a good year, just not quite pro bowl material though. I might say Clements, if he hadn’t been injured and missed so many games.

Davis, Gore, and Franklin hands down.

I couldn’t agree more Mountain Jack.

Robinson is one of my favorite players and it’s un-real the amount of hate that goes towards him.

Michael Robinson is a great choice for the Pro Bowl. I just wish the team would use him more on offense. When they run the Wildcat, what few times they have, they need Robinson in there to THROW a touchdown. He used to be a Quarterback. It would have been great when Joseph Addai threw that touchdown against us for Robinson to come in and respond with one himself. But once again I was walking away from the Stadium a loser. The only stadium I can watch a win is at St.Louis.

I wish robinson could get more playing time and was disappointed when they started coffee while gore was hurt. He is a different type of runner than gore and I would even say that he is better in an open field than gore. Maybe when he gets a few full seasons at one position under his belt people will start to realize what an asset he is.

I think the hate directed towards him comes from the attempt by the niners to convert a college qb into a third and goal down back. The niners offensive line probs go way back and that was a no win situation no matter who they put there.

Willis. Gore. Davis. Lee. Franklin. Robinson. So ya, all of them. But the 49ers dont get a lot of love from the East Coast voters so sadly Franklin and Robinson might miss out. I hope not though. Each one of those guys deserves it.

I think everyone mentioned is well deserving of a pro bowl, especially Frank. If it wasn’t for Mr.Gore and the attention he draws (8 men in the box) a lot of opportunities for Vernon Davis wouldn’t be available. Not to take away from anything Vernon has accomplished, but come on give Frank a lil more love. He is the heart in soul of the offense. So for the fake 9er’ fan who said Robinson is better in the open field. Get a grip!! What team are you watching? Robinson is a decent back/player, but he’s no Gore. M. Robinson if you’re reading no disrespect intended. We love in appreciate you.
