2009 Training Camp Begins

It’s the first day of training camp!  I know it’s an exciting day for 49ers fans and it’s also an exciting day for us here at team headquarters.

Many members of the staff were here well before 6 a.m. to make sure everything was ready for the 49ers Faithful who would be attending practice.  The fans began lining up around 6 a.m. as well, nearly an hour and a half before the gates were opened.

The first person in line, Chris Sullivan, was tackle Alex Boone’s uncle.  While he was eager to see his nephew in his first training camp practice, he was also curious to see how the 2009 49ers would look on the field.

“I’m hoping for some Singletary to rub off on these guys and dial them in to really realizing their potential and believing in themselves,” said Sullivan. “I’m just doing what I can as a fan to support that.”

Arriving early also has it’s advantages as fans race to the bleachers to get the best seat if the house to watch practice or the prime real estate for autographs.

“I think front row center is where I would like to be,” added Sullivan.  “I want to hear these guys getting off the line of scrimmage and working.  We’re done playing.  Let’s get down to the smash-mouth football.”

Sullivan and the rest of the 49ers Faithful won’t have to wait long to see if that comes to fruition as training camp has officially begun.
